AHHH the umbrella pic!! The polaroids are so adorable too. I'm even more excited for this now
Many viewers become unfair and miss the point of Xiaoyao saying she had 'reverse growth' just because she did…
Hey, soTreeD! Arguing with the air again? 😀 Not a single soul in this thread said Xiao Yao should've ended up with Xiang Liu for true character growth so I'm not sure why you brought him up. OP even said that they "would have cheered for her had she rejected all of them n made them all jst frnds forever n left alone to wander being WXL again, free spirited n happy with herself." As always, spreading misinformation to influence the new viewers.
Love the review, plor! I agree with every point you made. It's a real shame that the drama adaptation didn't follow the novel in its entireity, which diminished the impacts of the original story.
I tried to make it clean as possible, though I couldn't remove the vocals from Xiang Liu's line near the end. YZ and TJC's version is 2 semitones lower than Hu Xia and Zhang Zining's so sorry if it sounds unpleasant.
This scene and the underwater scene in S1E12 are the ones where I felt like they really should've used YZ and TJC's version instead of HX and ZZN's.
New trailers! Contain spoilers!https://x.com/AmP_BiRd/status/1819268780155195466https://x.com/aabbpk/status/1819264426589278299
10 mins for a trailer is crazy 🤣 Considering that cdramas usually spoil a lot more than they should in their trailers, I'll just dive in the drama without watching it beforehand
I disagree. It's already a war here with two love interests 🙃 plus, if she liked that much people, the story…
Hmmm I don't agree. IMO Xiang Liu is an important (perhaps the most important) character of the story, even when you disregard the romance aspect.
Xiang Liu is the only one who empowered Xiao Yao to become stronger by like pointing out her faults and teaching her archery. Without this empowerment, Xiao Yao would’ve continued to use her body to shield her loved ones from danger or rely on other people to protect her.
Xiang Liu is also a key reason why Xiao Yao and Jing survived as long as they did.
Consider the assassination attack on Xiao Yao. Yes, Jing shielded her from the flames and Cang Xuan and his followers used their spiritual powers to keep her alive. But in the end, only Xiang Liu could truly bring her back to life. If not for him then Lost You Forever would've ended at that scene fr (In the novel, Xiang Liu even revived her a second time after she poisoned herself and Cang Xuan).
Then Jing's assassination attempt. The drama showed Xiang Liu protecting Jing from a sea monster. In the novel, he saved him using Xiao Yao's blood. If Jing died then Xiao Yao would have nobody to rely on, no companion, no happy ending.
I've only watched 3 but so far, the stories are pretty predictable and cliche. Or maybe that's just cuz I've seen too many horror movies lol.
