I was wondering why the Qi Emperor is a crossed dress woman.... ?? the Drama being so good and well made... why did they keep a woman dressed as a man. Now after reading your RECAP, on JOL3...realized there is a story behind that too... great!
I don't mind waiting a bit as long as they continue to bring out the best.....especially the ending part!!
I am starting ep 18 and just hates to see how everyone push him for favors before the Imperial exam, esp that father in law... he always act very high and mighty, I think i have to go and watch JOL1 to check out his character. whether he is good or bad...! I forgot most of the characters..

Actually i was so impressed by the acting of Liu Yi Jun and Tong Yao. I was so moved by the way Liu Yi Jun, who always played such negative character in every drama was acting such an ardent lover.... acting of all in this drama was impressive. Actually second arc is very stifling, but its the transition and which is very difficult for people like us who live in this era to accept. I was literally fuming, when that sister in law took away the flowers YiYi's husband's friend u Zi He gave. I think thats the most difficult arc.... and they all did it so convincingly.

Oh Good... I was feeling am I the only one who felt so bad when she gave away the watch, and other occasion, yes Shen was ambitious and manipulative, but he never harmed these two... so felt disappointed, man left on the street and no one cares.....! Actually I am so impressed with this drama, i feel the second arc had more depth and feelings... the actor, Liu Yi Jun, whom I have seen only as such a negative character in all his dramas, and to make him act so convincingly affectionate and benevolent was too good. And also when the characters are bit senior their romantic displays are shown with warm hugs that's also was done thoughtfully and water village was shown so beautifully...
I am on ep 21, when Chengo Ao gave his pocket watch to Lin SiYun he said its a gift from his mother and he will only give it to the most important person to him. I couldn't believe Lin Si Yun gave away that watch to Yi Yi when she was going abroad, and she inturn gave it to her granddaughter who sold it.... Another thing which puzzled was when someone shot Shen Yi Qun on the road, there wasn't any follow up talk, even from Lin SiYun's side, he always took care of her... gave away a house ...too.
I know everyone, including myself, really liked the arc 1, but arc 2 is so intense... I breath a sigh of relief.... none of us have to go through all these.... so stifling, everyone wants to tell you how to live your life... watching you, judging you..... too much..! I try to see how will Lin Siyun could have managed in those circumstances (of course she had Cheng Ao) she was so damn good, knew what she wants in her life and fought to get it....
The first arc was so good, acting by both the leads, chemistry is too good. Cheng Lei did am amazing job as a confident lawyer from a gangsta family. Every character in that arc was really great. smooth but steady. I must say the old man Zeng was standout..!
Started the second arc... this is the first time I am seeing the actor Liu Yi Jun doing a benevolent character, too good ... first two three episodes had me finishing off tissues boxes... deep helplessness of the FL. I am on ep 14 and its looking better, hope it will continue...getting better.

Actually even when everyone promoted YX and CQ, I always thought she just thought he is miserable and didnt want him to go down the way he eventually became..... She thought by stayin with him, she can help.. but the people around him, his assistants.. were very bad influence on him.. .they only fan the flame burning inside him....She alone couldn't do anything... Eventhough YY warned her many times...

I have only read the adaptation of season 2 after the lake episode, but while I was watching there were a lot of discussion here about YanXun CQ in the novel, he is her first love, they were living together etc. and Usually censorship is strict of dramas...so thats what i was under impression on. Good you said that...!
