Is the Story of Minglan picture quality as good as Against the Current on wetv? I'm watching at 1080p on youtube…
Story of Minglan (2018), most of the scenes are night and inside their rooms... and to show that period of time, the lighting is also dim or warm and soft sepia for realistic aesthetic... (there were no LEDs those days... lol!!) Hence few people did comment on this those days....when it was released. But its so good, I think you get really good quality in Youtube also these days of Minglan... I recently rewatched on Kisskh.. which was really good quality

I am so impressed with both leads acting.... first time seeing an ML who admits his wrong doing sooo sheepishly... and really tries hard to find where did he go wrong... and Liu XueYi's acting is so appealing and realistic that even though he did wrong... I feel bad for him.. bcoz his intentions are good... At the same time... Seven Tan's acting as a girl with clever and educated mind buried inside and acting all maid like... is also good.. but she takes out all that anger only on JinQi.... Interesting....!

LX not showing any anger towards anyone, bcoz she have schooled her emotions well and no one can make out what she is thinking or whats going on in her mind.
It was clearly explained initially by grandfather Lin to his son and Jinqi and later by Grandma Shen to the ladies in Ep 1 when JiaLin mother asked Grandmother what happened why is HM accusing father of treason, so she explained when His Majesty was still a prince, Grandfather advised the deposed emperor to curb the powers of the princes' but HM rejected, it happened long time back.. but the current emperor is one the regional princes before and someone brought all this back and he was furious, he asked them to write a memorial denouncing the deposed emperor, which Grand Sec Shen refused, he said he cannot betray in conscience. so his whole family .
On the other hand Grandpa Lin and his sone resigned from their position and Moved to Jinling, and also submitted A memorial denouncing the deposed emperor's rule. Thats how he knew his family is safe and he also knew Shen refused.. thats why they told JinQi to write a letter to break off the engagement.
LX is only angry with Jinqi bcoz she believe he is cold and calculating, thats why when he came to know Shen family is in trouble immediately he cut ties with her ... bcoz Grandmother mentioned only about their family, she doesnt know Lin's part in it... So she never wanted to marry him or enter the Lin family. Thats why she cannot get close to him... but slowly she is seeing that he is a kind and considerate person... so when she realises he is the one who took care of her family's bodies.. she will have serious meltdown..

Now that I finished ep 34, I was looking for previews of the coming few episodes.. and I saw bit of ep 37.. or 38, linqi is taking her to the graves of his friends family of 20 buried.. she asked why no headstones.. and she looked shocked..
My God... when can Laxiang ever unburden her heart to LinQi... this is something she cannot talk to anyone....
