I think you make some good points about the way the character is written, but I still feel like a stronger actress would at least make the character more interesting to watch. So I think it's both.
ok don't get this wrong I am absolutely loving this drama, love love love it.but I am just not clicking with Go…
I agree. She's too one note for me. At first she was interesting... this aggressive yet emo girl with a strange ability, but now it's gotten old. She's the same person she was in the beginning with a tad more guilt. Supporting characters have more depth than her at this point.
You get pretty well what's going on, But I don't know if you omitted details on porpouse, to make the recap "light"…
Yes, I was totally trying to just comment on the parts that confused me. I left out a lot of details to keep it kinda short. There's also a lot that is still confusing. Especially the doctor who is obviously a reaper too, but I have no idea what his deal is.
I also left out the part about the fake death, and the shady business dealings, which I thought was obvious/clear.
I do think the whole drama is centered around these dudes sleeping with young girls at this bar, and the guy dying in the hospital, or at least all roads seem to lead back there.
What I really want to know is how she got this ability in the first place.
Ok, I know this is super long, but I'm trying to see if I got it most of it. After binging through 10 episodes, I think I'm less confused. Maybe. lol.
All the events are tied to Mujin... the worst small town in kdramaland.
The main character (Ha Ram) can see when people die, and we don't know why yet. Her childhood crush moved away when she was little. She thinks she has found him again, now a detective, but it seems that she actually found his half little brother. Maybe. His mom is sketchy. But it would make sense, because how could he not remember the girl who sees death?
Ha Ram's mom wanted to kill her when she was a kid, but instead married an abusive man and raises his lovechild as her own, while treating her birth daughter as a stranger. I'm sure there's more to this story to come.
Back in the day, a whole lot of people died in a horrible mall explosion, including a lot of young kids. The explosion is tied to two pedophiles (or maybe just one pedophile and his shady friend)... one in construction, and one in insurance. They both (or maybe just the insurance chaebol dude) liked to go to this club to sleep with underage girls. One of those girls becomes a doctor. The other girl ends up dead in a freezer. All the prominent adults in town seem to know all about it.
The girls were being manipulated by an older prostitute that one of the main detectives was in love with. That prostitute's body was found at the beginning of the show, and was a trans woman, so she is also the male reaper in the beginning too. The one who gets replaced with the rogue one. The detective thought she just left him, but now he's obsessed with finding the truth.
The pedophile in insurance has a crazy son who has been covering up for him for years. He also has a sweet son who's super naive, but has a "dark" past. Crazy son hates the sweet son. The sweet son gives me major second lead syndrome. He also has very sketchy friends.
There's something about a really fancy watch that keeps changing owners. This watch sure gets around.
The main reaper, 444 in the detective's body, is falling in love with the main girl. He thinks he's not human at all, but we now know he was once, because he finds his own body in an underwater car in the first scene. He has the memories of the guy who's life he took over, but he still doesn't know why. He knows that detective was investigating the Mujin club scandal which is connected to his girlfriend, the doctor. She's been in danger for years for knowing about a tape exposing the creepy bar, so she hid her identity. She has to find the tape to save her life.
There's a creepy old dude who possibly tried to kill/harm them as kids (the brothers and the doctor). He seemingly killed Clara, who was also trying to hide/find the tape. The kids somehow escape, but the older brother supposedly ends up dead not long after from a car accident.
There's also a guy killing everyone, with no middle finger, trying to protect all of the secrets connected to Mujin. He was even willing to steal the main detective's eyeballs. Gross.
So basically... Mujin is the worst place in kdramaland, especially for a kid.
But seriously... as confusing as things may get, I think it's all piecing together well. I'm excited to see what's next.
This is just me attempting to recap and be less confused. Did I miss or misunderstand anything?
The end of ep10 was beautiful. Gave me feels. I feel like the reaper is more than likely Joon. So he's in his…
That would be cool, but don't we already know how he died based on the beginning? He found his body in a car underwater. I don't remember if he was in the driver's seat, or maybe he could be an older kid in the passenger seat, but if he is Joon the story of the car accident is definitely a lie.
Either way, I'm preparing for a sad departure at the end.
It's true. I just gave in to that being his personality and liked the dynamic. She's like constant shock value and he's easily shocked but not flustered, so I just gave in to their weird chemistry.
May be because it's not the main theme that you feel like this, I personally enjoy it, it's not too present and…
I think I like the fact that they both seem extremely socially awkward, without being passive. It seems like they can't decide whether they are annoyed or attracted. I think it makes it a little less cliche than usual.
