So I am trying to predict where this is all heading, which I think is maybe obvious, but I need to entertain myself in between episodes...
Right now there is a love square... Both crazy Ahn Dan Tae and sweet Joon Soo have an obvious crush on Gong Shim. Gong Shim has a big crush on Joon Soo, but is unconsciously developing feelings and an attachment for Ahn Dan Tae. Both guys are jealous of each other, but their bromance is still strong. Gong Mi wants to seduce Joon Soo, and Joon Soo is becoming curious about her because he doesn't realize he's being manipulated. Gong Mi is jealous of the attention her sister is getting from him, and her sense of entitlement makes her not feel guilty about using her sister to get closer to Joon Soo. Gong Mi can't stand Ahn Dan Tae, and looks down on him (which will obviously bite her in the butt later), but they do have the law thing in common...
So obviously Joon Soo will get closer to Gong Mi, and Gong Shim will get get closer to Ahn Dan Tae. When it's revealed that Ahn Dan Tae is the missing kid, That's when the square will get messy. How it will get messy is the question... hmm... any thoughts?
At first I didn't understand how a show with so few episodes could get such a bad review. Totally makes sense after episode one. Perhaps some people were being too kind... lol
I love the chemistry between the leads, and the way the story is told, but my favorrite part of the drama is Ye Ji Won! I heart "noona" and her shenanigans so much! I also definitely ship her and Kim Ji Suk. Hopefully that escalates quickly in the next episode.
So I think I get what's wrong with "pretty" Oh Hae Yeong, and why she left him at the alter. All she has is her image. She basically smiles and fakes it through painful or bad situations, and plays off of the fact that she, and her life, looks good on the outside. I know people exactly like this. They are not bad people, but it makes them often shallow, and self centered. Do Kyeong is a no BS guy, so he saw that she was flawed anyway, because he pays attention to detail. She knew that he loved her, but she could not handle him looking at her with pity. The crack in her armor even gives her anxiety attacks! The other Oh Hae Yeong is the exact opposite, which is why I think she's so passive aggressive with her. Anyway, by leaving on her own terms she saves face, and doesn't have to admit to being "pitiful". This makes her the perfect character to root against, while I'm rooting for the authentic and shamelessly flawed Oh Hae Yeong. At least that's my 2 cents.
I think I liked the characters but the plot was soooooo predictable I sometimes couldn't believe I was still watching. I probably could have skipped 5 complete episodes and not missed anything. But yeah, I did still like it. lol! So torn!
I think I am the only one that liked Joo Da Hae... I liked her and somehow understood her and, even though I can't…
I definitely hated her. I honestly think she was a definite sociopath, but I still had sympathy for her. I think we have to in order to understand Ha Ryu's love for her. That sympathy didn't make me like her at all, she was just too dangerous, but it made me understand what made her that way.
Having just finished it, i don't believe she died in the end. She couldn't possibly die, the writer…
Although I don't agree (I think she did die), I loved the tragic ending for Ha Ryu. Of course the ending would be more bitter than sweet, because of how much he loved her, and I liked the unconscious moments they shared while remembering how their relationship started in the first place. I also think, for his sanity, he would have to believe that his daughter was reunited with her mother, like she wanted.
I haven't finished yet, but of all the dramas I have seen, this character is the most evil and twisted by far. Episode 17, and there's more evil to come, I'm sure! o.O
Subbers, you're the real MVPs!!!
