Sang Hyeon really has no tact oml. He's so petty that it's unattractive π He acts like he's walked through life with his eyes closed and has never had to read the room or people in his entire life. The one line he uses the most and I absolutely HATE "Of course it bothers me." LIKE BOY IF IT BOTHERS YOU THAT MUCH THEN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. DON'T JUST WHINE LIKE A 2 YR OLD! Stop sitting on your hands and GET UP! AND WHERE IS YOUR NUNCHI??!?!? Like bro, even Ji Yung who came in later realized that Bon Hee had no interest in others and was drawn to Mu Jin. Learn to take a hint??? You let it get so far and are only now waking up and deciding to take action. It's only going to mess things up. And how are you so oblivious and selfish to believe that you can just tell someone to "back off" and let you go at your snail-like pace just because you like the same person??? How sheltered exactly are you π Mu Jin my boy, don't give an inch, you hear me?!?!? Go be with your person and keep showing up and letting Bon Hee know how much you like her instead of sitting on the sidelines and magically hoping she gets you message telepathically that you like her.
Istg, Sang Hyeon's the one that pisses me off the most in this show. (Yes even more than Sang Won bc no matter how odd his approach might be, at least he TRIES. Ignoring the fact that most times it ends up making things worse but STILL. He gets up and gets on with it!)
So Hyun is pretty chill, I like her. She's really proactive but also laid-back at the same time. This is how I imagined the older women in the show would be like. And the fact that she's interested in Sang Hyeon π€
Like YES PLEASE! Take him away from being all depressed and miserable, hovering around Mu Jin and Bon Hee all the time π
I feel like the 12 year age gap the show mentions is between Mu Jin and Bon Hee.
I keep going back to the number 37 and 38 for Bon Hee's age for some reason and with that 12 year age gap factored, Mu Jin would have to be around 25/26. Plus from his childhood photo, he does look to be about 9 or 10 in it. Ji Yung looks to be about 24/25 tho so he could be the potential outlier as the other men all seem older than 27 to me.
As for any hurdles or doubts that Bon Hee might have in regards to age gaps in a relationship, I don't think there would arise such a situation. She's pretty secure in herself and is already aware of the fact that she's much older than the male contestants and has mentioned as such during conversations. She didn't look to be put off by the age factor and continued to express her interest in Mu Jin instead of shying from it. But once their ages are revealed, Mu Jin might end up getting a little flustered since he thinks Bon Hee looks quite close to him in age but then again, he did see Bon Hee's photo from 2004 so from that he should have an idea that she is in fact, much much older than what he might've expected. At least by about 8 years. The photo might've even given him time to process their age gap actually. Regardless of whether he gets flustered or not, I'm sure he likes her enough and is secure in their feelings for each other that he'll come around fairly quickly.
I love how the show and the contestants never really go in the direction you expect them to. People are messy and unpredictable and this show highlights exactly that lol. Unexpected and intriguing every step of the way, we have plot twists and eyebrow raising moments more often than not. I'm laughing, I'm seething and I'm shaking my head, screaming "NO! THAT'S SO CRINGE! Please stop it, for the love of God!" at my laptop. I empathize with the contestants but I also feel like reaching through the screen to shake them awake and slap some sense into them.
Ji Won my girl- π Baby that's too much TMI. That's not something you bring up on a date let alone on a whole reality TV dating show that's getting broadcasted internationally. It just turned the whole atmosphere awkward and embarrassing for the both of you π
Like I love you, but you really do need to work on holding back on the deets some times π₯²
Lmao, I was wrong about most of their job occupations but at least I got 2.5 right.
I was only able to get the obvious ones such as Ye Eun being a ballet dancer, Hyeon Joon being a chef. Bon Hee's interest in photography was quite apparent too and I guessed she'd be in something related to it but more on the fashion side like a stylist.
Mu Jin and Sang Hyeon were both a complete surprise. Kind of disappointed in myself for not guessing that Sang Won would be in the medical field after taking note of his ginormous ego π
Yeong Kyeong and Ji Won also seem like such a good fit in their respective professions, can't believe I didn't catch on π
The show's pretty entertaining so far. You can definitely feel the generational gap at times which is cute and…
Now for the new guy that's set to make an appearance next episode. I AM SO READY
He looks to be more proactive and I feel like Ji Won is going to be drawn to him quite a bit. It's going to get so fun when the new male cast is going to start pursuing all the female contestants as they watch. It's going to stir feelings, get messy, become competitive and so so entertaining π
The show's pretty entertaining so far. You can definitely feel the generational gap at times which is cute and a little awkward lol.
Hyeon Joon MY MAN you could've saved the moment with "The Classic" by saying, "why don't we watch it together some time?" π RIDE THE TIDES, COME ON
As of now, my favorite pairings are Mu Jin and Bon Hee, and Hyeon Joon and Yeong Kyeong.
Sang Won and Ye Eun are off my radar after that disastrous date they had. Yikes. I could barely breathe through the smog that seemed to perpetually surround them at that restaurant table π¬ Ye Eun at times, comes off as ingenuine. Like girl, that was your first date together, you have no right to act THAT upset over what Sang Won said. Sang Won on the other hand is a bit blunt with his words and just happens to say the wrong things at the wrong times. He really needs to brush up on his nunchi π
If I were to make a guess on what the female contestant's ages and careers are off of first impressions and my…
As for the guys, none of them really strike me to be older than 27 but then again, a man never really grows up is a saying for a reason so I could be totally fooled.
Sang Won - (eldest) 29 (a model of sorts? That big of an ego only comes with a job like that.) (idk, he just gives me older person vibes who's a bit stuck up and doesn't really know how to talk to women. Boy, your mouth is gonna get you in trouble real soon... Oh, and also, he has a Benz of his own.)
Hyeon Joon - 27 (He's probably a chef) (He gives off very calm and stable vibes, seems a bit more experienced and comfortable than the other 50%)
Sang Hyeon - (definitely the youngest) - 23 (He seems like he hasn't really ventured off into the world yet so he might still be looking for a job? Maybe pursuing a degree in University. But, hmmm, maybe a florist or a writer? Since he thinks so deeply about everything.) (he's just a scared little puppy that keeps cowering away into a corner for the most part π)
If I were to make a guess on what the female contestant's ages and careers are off of first impressions and my…
For Bon Hee, I'm pretty sure she's 34+ because going off of the clue we saw in the secret room, if she was a teenager in the early 2000s, she'd be born in the later half of 1980s and early 1990s. The picture we were shown is from 2004 as the show clarified so even if we go with the lower end of teenage years and suppose that she's 14 in the picture (she looks to be about 17 to me) we can be sure that she'd be about 34-35 now, depending on her birthday.
If I were to make a guess on what the female contestant's ages and careers are off of first impressions and my personal inkling, it would be:
Ji Won - (eldest) 37 (She gives me yoga instructor vibes. Like a job that requires her to be physically strong. I can also see her doing water sports and being an instructor for such. Her bright and bubbly personality has me thinking of her in instructional roles only lol. She's also louder than the average Korean woman so it makes me think of her as a coach of sorts. But yeah, sports related?)
Ye Eun - 33 (A dancer of sorts? That foam roller is nudging me in that direction. Ballet? Or Classical Korean?)
Yeong Kyeong - 34 (I genuinely don't know with her. She could be a flight attendant judging from how softly she talks but is also quick-witted. She could also be a jewelry shop owner. Man, idk π)
Bon Hee - 32 (Hobby is photography. She seems like she could be a hairstylist? Like she'd own a salon or be into fashion a bit.)
BUT, since they said that the biggest age gap in the pairings is 12 years, I would have to reconsider my whole list. Supposing that the youngest guy is 23, the oldest woman can't be older than 35 to make that 12 year age gap work. So...
Ji Won - (eldest) 35 Ye Eun - 31 Yeong Kyeong - 32 Bon Hee - 34
Okay, so this episode made me love Bon Hee and Mu Jin sooooo much more, they are so adorable ππ I loved how Mu Jin took Bon Hee down an almost "memory lane" and refreshed her experiences from her younger days. The public transport was such a nice switch up, it's so much more exciting & thrilling, in a way, compared to the monotonous driving Bon Hee's probably subjected to on the daily (travelling to work and back). Her high school days and freshly employed times must've felt closer in that moment. They had a nice meaningful conversation during that time too and it was only made possible cause one of them didn't have to keep their eyes glued to the road. Also, the stolen pictures, handkerchief and fan were so cute sdkjfsk
I absolutely adore how their vibes match so wellβthey're both cheerful, their conversations are colorful (there's such familiarity and comfort in how they talk with eo and bounce off of each others comments for that satisfying tiki-taka) and they're so considerate and thoughtful of each otherβthey make my heart flutter in every scene π₯Ί
And the second part of their date at the bbq restaurant just gave me such big nostalgia on Bon Hee's behalf cause she must've now gotten accustomed to visiting fine-dining restaurants as compared to these roadside cozy restaurants that are more chill and free-spirited. I could almost imagine her reminiscing about having frequented these types of places during her younger days like night outs with college friends, company dinners and a quick lunch here when you're broke. So glad that Bon Hee visibly looked like she was enjoying the date Mu Jin had planned with how her energy levels were up the whole day <3
From just watching the trailer, I can already tell that this movie is going to change my life and my world-view. I will be a changed person after this...
As an asian that was born left-handed and was forced to use my right hand instead (who now functions as an ambidextrous) this is going to end up being quite relatable and hit close to home. can't wait to watch it π₯Ή
The whole sequence of Reina realizing just how stupid she was, falling right into the trap Misa set for her π₯π₯ "Thank you for picking up the trash I threw away," was waiting just for this absolute banger of a line to drop the whole series, and it did not disappoint. Reina burning in her own misery lol
I really want to know that better things you have for recommendation to others.
Yay, so glad you were able to watch the other ones! They're all so good π I looked at some of the premises for on-going series but most of them did not interest me, and the budget looked pretty low too :(
The only two Bls I'm eagerly waiting on for as of now are Cha Hakyeon's 'The Killer Next Door,' and Taecyeon's 'Soul Mate.'
I checked my watchlist, and Wandee Goodday, Dangerous Romance, Jack & Joker, Last Twilight, Fish Upon the Sky, My Love-Mix Up are all decent watches. They're pretty cute and enjoyable for the most part. You should check them out if you haven't already!
Also, Triage is another drama I really liked. It's very well fleshed-out and the plot is super interesting! I remember not being able to move on for a few days after finishing it π₯Ή
But yeah, those were the Thai Bls I watched. If u want more recs for Korean ones or Taiwanese ones, don't hesitate to hmu! I haven't seen that many japanese ones sadly but there's still a few I did check out.
He acts like he's walked through life with his eyes closed and has never had to read the room or people in his entire life.
The one line he uses the most and I absolutely HATE "Of course it bothers me."

He's not awkward and has his eyes saved for Bon Hee ONLY which ughhhh has me weak in the knees π©. Anyhow, based off of his and Bon Hee's conversation in the bus, I could gather that he was probably in his mid 20s)
