It's actually true that people starts to redeem themselves before their death
He didn't deserve that redemption at all! Additionally, he knew he was not well/going to make it but instead of putting his affair in order he had to die in front of 20+ people - as egotistical as always.
Pi O got his happy ending ...Did JY get one? Ahhh I think his happy ending is being with Pi O only his whole life…
Neither of them did - they repeated it several times that both of them only wanted to create /play music together, which didn't happen in the ending... I don't get how it turned into playing music in villages?
Great work from the whole cast and especially the main leads!
However, why did Jeong Yo need to become a monk in the Czech Republic...what kind of plot is that??? They could have just continued creating music together after the last time they played together. Why did Jeong Yo need to lose use of his hand? The way they played it seemed like part/most of the problem with his hand/arm was on a psychological basis... and then suddenly it changed into a degenerative loss of function?... There was too much Christian propaganda. And why do unsympathetic villains always get redeemed in kdramas but sympathetic ones are destroyed without mercy - the whole time it seemed like Pio would welcome the death of his grandfather at least to be rid of his disapproval and abuse but then suddenly it turned into a 'heartwarming family drama'... and the same with Jeong Yo's abusive father - the fact someone is old and even if they repent doesn't mean they would be or deserve to be forgiven... And the Pio's mother (who was also abusive, a classic narcissist, but is accepted with open arms by everyone and specifically Pio) - does hiring people from a gang/terrorist organisation for kidnapping, which resulted in attempted murder and bodily harm only carry a sentence of 3 years in prison in Korea??? Hilarious. As usual kdamas bungle the ending and those who should be punished aren't while the victims continue to suffer and don't get proper ending/resolution... Left a bitter taste.
Great acting from the cast! Can't stand her ex-husband - playing/being affectionate after her death...good work from the actor. Like the characters of the FL and ML - she is naturally cold-blooded and ruthless and the ML understands and admires her for it. Hoping for a happy ending for them... According to their characters it would be interesting if he pretends to die so their son becomes the Emperor since he only cared for finding the poisoner and revenge and she wants the ultimate power after learning what happens if you don't have it, then the can have a genuine relationship...curious what would happen?...
The drama seems even darker with the PTSD/schizofrenia hallucinations than if there were just the terrible events that happened. It evokes a visceral reaction - showing how mentally disturbed the FL is by the events.
Loved this drama! The ending was very fitting to their character - he didn't want to be Emperor (as an adult) and she wanted to work and take over the group. If the monarchy was not abolished, it would have been a bad ending that betrays the characters. Also, it shows giving up privilege so all people have equality - him being equal to others is not being victimised... The drama shows why "women love kdramas" and it's not because the ML is one the most beautiful men on TV - he genuinely respects the FL and is excited about and engaged in the relationship. Great acting from the whole cast.
For me yes I like that they get a happy ending but giving up the crown like why even fight for it to give up .…
Abolishing the monarchy is the ultimate move to protect his family - as royals they would always be targets. Also, he giving up the privilege himself is what removes the system of noble and base people, otherwise it wouldn't work.
Loving this - couple look great together and their chemistry is good! Hoping the Prime minister male friend doesn't become the biggest villain after going off the deep end because he can't get the FL...
NOW THIS is an adaptation - recreating the plot faithfully instead using the characters' names and going off the deep end into a new story! Can't wait for the war plot to start properly!
