She also has terrible trauma that all the people she loves leave her either voluntarily or involuntarily so she cannot let herself love and be loved due to fear it will be gone again. Hope she ditches her toxic family and heals her trauma, or at least start the path of healing.
Really shows that hot guy is not hot by being a red flag. And being a green flag is not boring. So tired of the whole "toxic guy needs the 'right' woman to fix him" only pushes people into toxic relationships and doesn't happen in real life (being "fixed" by the 'right' woman).
These toxic family members are so draining. Not doing anything when she needed them as a child and even abusing her but now her life is established - they come out of the woodwork "wanting to take care of her [her mother]" - just crazy. And the junior intern... what is he expecting to happen, really shows harassment can happen by anybody and in any circumstance. He is only "annoying" and not 'scary' because of his bubbly personality and he is not much bigger than the FL. But showing up at her home...going into stalking.
So is it worth it? I am really fan of the novel and give high expectations..but i am skeptical to start the drama…
I watched it because the of the ML actor but the drama is an overall watered down version of the novel... If watched as a stand alone it's not too back but compared to the novel...
For me, that is the illogical part of this whole drama. Why would the Liu family want their son to marry a lowly…
Liu Chang doesn't have a redemption arc so far (by end of ep 29) - he wants to be married to the princess when married to Mu dan and when set to marry the princess, he wants to be with Mu dan. Despite his parents and the princess trying to kill Mu dan, he continues to cling to her as if she can't die fast enough...
I totally agree 👍 What is good about this drama is that it's slow but it shows how these two develope the strong…
Also, Mu Dan was incredibly hurt in that marriage and while it is not addressed in detail like with Sheng Yi, it is there. She doesn't want to marry again as not to be abused and live a carefree life because she doesn't trust a man would respect and cherish her. She can heal from the trauma, and achieve her goals - hate it when "love" suddenly changes the whole character of a character...

Because they went in another direction with ZGQ's romance and "decrease" the bromance chemistry on purpose. I find that new romance very unconvincing.... is it in the manhua?

She is a traumatised soul but other people don't owe her to die because of her mistakes. After choosing her husband instead of Mu Dan who even gave her equity on the shop to feel secure, etc. she deserves to get him. Even if Mu Dan forgives her she is not a person who can counted on in the future.

There is no way the ML would be anybody if he was not stone-hearted. He is very well contrasted to her ex husband who is wishy washy and can never do anything. To protect people and accomplish things one should fight and win, not miss opportunities constantly. If that ex really loved Mu Dan, he would never mention her name again, pretend she is dead, he cannot protect her but constantly brings attention to her - CRAZY! It is almost like he wants to own her so much he is ok with her dying because of him. Also, it is kind of funny how he doesn't know anything about his society - because he can throw tantrums at home, and his mother humours him, he thinks anyone will humour him...
