To me the weird angles come from yet another weird "translation" from a 'living a second life in a new body' novel to a drama format. Doesn't she hate Lu Jiaxue from living as a spirit and him killing her in her past life? She also knows who her "Third brother" will become... I am always baffled by adaptations cutting major plot lines which makes the whole thing go in a weird and wrong directions... (the beginning of 'the Double', same in a "A Girl like me", etc.)

That was such a ridiculous substitution. In the novel she almost killed the Princess in a super clever way with her archery and the Count became aware of her as an "interesting actress". Instead they had the ridiculous scene with the archery at the banquet, which in she was almost crying and what not, while she would never lose her cool like that in the novel... And she would never kill "her husband" before everyone knows what a piece of shit he is. Should have made her as cold-blooded as in the novel, if people wanted to watch a naive FL, etc. they would watch something else, what is the meaning of making an adaptation if you change everything that made the story unique and interesting?
