What is happening in the comment section of the 2nd link? Who is homophobic?
I apologize. Tbh, I was debating on whether to post it or not but I decided to do so because I think it's fair to know the writer's opinion about their work, even if we don't like/agree with it. At the end of the day, no matter her stance on the subject and what she chose to do so with her work, it will never take away our happy feelings about the series and how much it means to many of us. Of course, having a better translation will help clear up any misunderstandings but the end result is that Cherry Magic brought us all together, especially during a very difficult time for all of us and this is something none can change :)
I don't think that the google translator is enough this time. I asked someone if they could translate it. I'm…
Yeah, there is context and nuisance google translate can't pick up. If the person you asked to translate can give us a more clear view of her thoughts, that would be great!

They are talking about Yoshida. Some fans don't like how she doesn't want to label "Cherry Magic" as BL. Google translate: "The original is based on the genre of BL (boys love), and readers are also looking for BL-like development, so it is accepted as a story, but various people will see the drama. Some of them may not like BL. That is why I was conscious of what it would look like when viewed by people of all ages.I understand. Of course, I don't mean to deny the feeling that people who like BL like it. However, I also understand that some people have a feeling of resistance to the BL genre. That's why I don't use the word BL when advertising on Twitter. I wish I had some new words. Just as women are disgusted, men are disgusted. That kind of recognition is gradually spreading now. The only way to make it known to the world is for the parties to speak up. However, it is the reality of today's society that violence can be directed against those who speak out. Therefore, I think it is our role as the creator of the drama to speak out on behalf of those peopl"
I am definitely missing context here since I can't read Japanese so I don't want to have a harsh opinion on her without knowing what she really said but I will say this: I don't mind if we don't have sexy scenes because the romantic feelings matter the most, but if the reason to not include them is to appeal to straight people, that's really sad. Of course I am talking as a person living outside of Japan, thus I don't know how their conservative reality works. I get where she is coming from, if she said something like that, because we need to start from somewhere in certain cultures, but such opinions can still hurt LGBTQ+ people in Japan.
Tbh, I still can't find the strength to watch episode 11 with subs lol I will do so on Thursday, before the final episode airs because I want the pain to be short ;o; Also, I have made some changes to the timeline thanks to @Foreigner's hawks' eye!

No need to apologize, your questions are not stupid :) For your first question, Usagi explained it very well! As for you second: I have no idea. I guess there is a general talk about it but not everyone does it. Also, Idk if they teach it at school either so I have no concrete answer about it.
But in general, Japanese talk in indirect ways. It also depends on the situation and people involved. They can be direct sometimes but their culture is mostly as Adachi talks - not the awkwardness, but not being blunt about his thoughts/feelings, trying to be polite and not burden others with their problems.
During dinner at the end of episode 11, there wasn't much conversation at first because they were both thinking…
Japanese is a very indirect language, so the way they talk is not as upfront/blunt as in other languages, especially European ones. Thus you need to pick up stuff when they converse, eg when Adachi says "this is not bad" talking about his relationship with Kurosawa instead of "I like this". It also of course depends on the person - Adachi is a prime example of that. Kurosawa can pick it up because he can guess what Adachi means and since he knows Adachi is a virgin, there is only one topic he doesn't know of and wants Kurosawa to "teach" him.
It's been shown at multiple instances that Adachi isn't ready for "it" yet. Hopefully he and Kurosawa can come…
I didn't get the impression he was feeling pressured about it after the talk with Tsuge. More like "ah, yes there is that and it will make me lose my powers. But if it's with Kurosawa I don't mind". But of course the whole situation changed drastically in episode 11 so the outcome of it can be different once they get back together. But yeah, I am just "whatever" about it. It's up to him to love and show that feeling any way he feels like, as long as it's healthy and both and Kurosawa are comfortable about it.

Yeah, I get that the discussion in episode 11 made him feel more complicated about it because it's adding the magic powers and the guilt that he now feels over it. That's why, I mentioned episode 10 in which he thought about it before everything went down. At the end of the day, if he wants to have sex with Kurosawa that's on him. I am fine either way as long as it's something he feels comfortable about.

Haven't seen the new episode with subs yet but I am pretty sure that Adachi said in episode 10 that he is fine doing "it" if it's with Kurosawa. But I don't really care either way about that part lol I get it's also a plot point regarding his magic powers and his own desires, but once they get back together they can talk about it.
Hello sad people! I hope you have a good week ahead of you :) I know the pain is still there but everything is going to be fine and we will see their smiles again soon. Ganbatte!!
Woah wait... I rewatched the episode and noticed that it takes place during December?? A whole month of timeskip from episode 10 o_o You can see Adachi circling the dates and I first thought it was still November but no it's December...
I really like to read these long posts analysis some of you are writing. Each one of them is different and unique from the others yet all together make this puzzle of this beautiful yet equally sad relationship between Kurosawa and Adachi. Tbh, at first I thought that we wouldn't get lots of character and relationship development but I was proven wrong fast lol It's really nice to analyze the whole thing since different POVs bring something new to the table and it's interesting to read what some of you are thinking of this new development :)
Kurosawa proposed to break up since he wants Adachi not to be tortured and he wants him to be happy. My god, this…
I didn't understand well but was Adachi in conflict about giving up his power or not? I kinda got that it gives him pressure when he is reading the minds unintentionally, especially Kurosawa's, but I am not sure about the whole thing.
