I feel you. I dropped Doom at your service and My Roommate is a Gumiho. I am just keeping watching Lovers of the…
Those dark parts are in fact interesting and well played, but just next to them are naivly sweet scenes and tones of cliche romantic moments. Sometimes this combination seems odd. It is too early to judge
This year we have a plague of dramas that are visually beautiful and start interesingly, but have pointless plot (Lovers of the Red Sky, Doom at Your Servise, My Roommate is a Gumiho). I wonder if this one will be next on the list. Anyway first few episodes seems promising.
The Magnificent Century aired on television in my country (Poland) and was loved by many. My grandma celebreted every episode and I watched it ocasionally with her. I know orginal characters and I like your casting a lot. I'm not sure if it could be remaked into Chinesse drama though, because plot is highly related to specific time in the turkish history. On the other hand the story is quite universal and has similar vibe to many historical dramas (the first one that came to my mind was korean drama Empress Ki). Thank you for the article anyway!
Why would they change the plot because of the age gap?
But I believe in some cases woman in her 40ies can be called "agassi" when she looks very young. I think it depends also on her matrimonial status. For example I am only 32 but have a husband and three kids, so I am probobably ajumma.
Why would they change the plot because of the age gap?
In my opinion you are wrong. I always thought that older woman is called 아줌마 ajumma and 아가씨 is a young lady (you can often hear that pronouns in historical dramas when old servant is calling her young miss) and I think I'm right. My grandfather was 10 years older than my grandmother and they were happily married 60 years before my grandmother…
In times of my grandparents it was totally normal to have 10 or even 15 years gap (in my country at least). Both my grandmothers married older man and both grandmothers of my husband did. Now it's not that common, but I don't understand why some people consider relationship with an older person as 'bad' or 'inappropriet'. There are many rules like that. For example "Man should be taller than woman" or "Woman should be younger than man". I am older than my husband, so what, our marriage will be unhappy by definition? The real problem starts, when there is inbalance of power in relationship. For example, when one of the parts is able to abuse another by using his/her position.
I don't love her either but I actually think she is fine here.Rather natural and charming despite also being somewhat…
Well, I also hated her character in It's ok to not be ok. Maybe here's the root of my problem. I just can't separate the actress from her previous role. I don't know why. I am aware that people adore her and I know she acts well.
On the other hand, I really can't feel the chemistry between her and KMJ.
After episode 1 I love Kim Min Jae character. I was affraid that he will be typical arogant and rich ML but he's definitely more extraordinary and interesting. Kim Min Jae is one of my favourite actors and I've been following his career since Great Saducer. But, in the same time, I really dislike Park Gyu Young. I don't wish to offend her or her fans, sure she is hard working actress, but there is something in her acting that I personally just can't stand. Her character irritated me in It's okey to not be okey and in Sweet Home .And, as I predicted, her character irritates me in this one also. So now I'm in dilema. To watch or to watch not second episode. When I look at Kim Min Jae if feel pleased. But in the next second camera shots Park Gyu Young and I want to pull my own hairs because of anguish. I just don't know what to do.
There are things I like about this drama, but there are also things that I really dislike. For example: Ha Ram's abilities. Ok, let's say that in dramaland fighting or riding alone isn't hard for a blind person. But a blind person as a judge in a painting contest?
wait just wondering, but what happen??? also she has a son? i didn't know that lol
Some time ago she admited, she had a son out of wedlock. She said that she felt strong bond and responsibility for her child from begining, this is why she didn't terminate pragnancy or abandon a baby. I adimre her decision and bravery. I wish her luck and great career.
Sadly I’m going to drop this drama. The female lead is letting the male lead just get away with the stuff he…
In my opinion she didn't forgive him that easilly. She just learned he wasn't the one who called the police to get her mother. And he helped her mother to leave arrest. As I understand, using FL wasn't his orginal plan. She accidentally came back from USA in the same time when he attaced her mother. She was homeless and alone, so he took resposibility for her. Of course in the same time he was searching for her mother. Of course he did many nasty things, but well, FL's mother was criminal responsible for his father's death.
I've completed 219 dramas so far and have dropped 271. So I've started waching 490 dramas in total. And after so many years I came to conclusion That winter, the wind blows is one of the best dramas I've ever seen. Incredible chemistry, beautiful cinematography, interesting side stories, deep characters and many moving moments. It has everything that drama should have and it's aging well.
(If a man is handsome, he can be called an oppa, even if he is younger :D )
It is too early to judge
