Regarding movies, it's his personal choice,
he has been known for working on movies more than drama
since 2017, he worked on 8 movies and only 4 dramas.
And I honestly don't blame him, Chen Kaige (his father) is a Chinese film director and a leading figure of the fifth generation of Chinese cinema. His films are known for their visual flair and epic storytelling, and I would say that's one of main reasons why he prefers to work on movies over dramas.

If you don't watch his latest movie that was released few months ago titled : "Yesterday Once More", I recommend watching it
and regarding upcoming dramas, since two more movies will be released this year, let's hope he picks up a drama soon which will be released next year ofc...

Concerning Ruo Yun, he is a very talented actor, I watched Sword Snow Stride while waiting for the 2nd season of Joy of Life, after completing it, I found myself waiting for its second season too xD but who knows when it will come out...if ever. The ML is so busy with so many projects, they started filming the second season of Joy of Life after 4 years of the 1st season, so who knows about Sword Snow Stride.

One more thing about SSS, I liked everything about it except the FL xD she pissed me off, if they focused much much more in the other two maids or especially his master, it would have been even better, I have nothing to complain about Joy of Life but I felt the same way about the FL, she didn't piss me off but I didn't find her as interesting as Haitang or Si Li Li :D
