33 minutes and 27 seconds through ATWIL episode 39, but I have to say this before I carry on:- Zhou Ting Wei and…
"They have only been happily together for 2 and a half episodes since their previous separation."

This is literally my pet peeve. Every drama OTP has only like 1 or 2 episodes of happiness before they're torn apart and then could never recover their happy/giddy moments. Ugh.

It's a high level martial arts technique so I don't think it's meant to be passed down to their disciples, probably just their successors, which in this case is Xue Zhi and Mu Yuan. As for the one copy, it's a highly controversial technique so it makes sense not to make more copy to keep it as confidential as possible. Although I did think Chong Ye should have burned it before he died (Xue Zhi already memorized the Lotus Sutra anyway and Mu Yuan could have memorized the Nine Moves of God) but that'd mean no story as Xue Zhi would have no reason to travel outside Hall of Flames to retrieve the scroll back.

Sharing the same sentiment of a fellow viewer here on episodes 31-33. What the hell happened? Su Xuan is back but the general morale/mood of the show just dropped to its lowest! The plot is draggy, repetitive, and stagnant, it was painful to get through, I kept dozing off in between, not even gonna bother to go back and see what I missed. Now I'm dragging my feet to continue episode 34.
On The Romance of Tiger and Rose Jul 4, 2020
Finally finished 24 episodes in 4 days. A little sad to let this one go because this drama has been thoroughly delightful even with plot holes and silly logic. This drama certainly lives up to its rom-com premise but the general mood is slightly dampened near the end, I wish we could have more of the couple's happy moments but I'll take what I can get. I'm looking forward to Zhao Lu Si and Ding Yu Xi's future projects.

I loved this drama but I really hated how they dealt with the male lead trying to rape the female lead. Even tho…
This is the one thing that bothers me in this drama, which otherwise, has been great at balancing humor and angst. Han Shou was perfect in my eyes up to that point, that scene put a dent to my love/adoration for him. I mean this is the guy who could hold himself after being drugged with aphrodisiac but couldn't control his jealousy/anger? It was no doubt mishandled by the production team/writers. I too, dislike the fact that he didn't apologize and she didn't hold it against him afterward, this is a serious offense that shouldn't be taken lightly. Granted they were mutually in love and Qian Qian was ready to consummate the relationship at one point, but in that scene she was clearly unwilling and it was so uncomfortable to watch.

However, what saved Han Shou's character for me is he has been constantly loving and forgiving of Qian Qian even when she was undeserving of his forgiveness. There were many instances I was upset on his behalf for the way she treated him and was expecting him to walk away from Qian Qian, but every time he'd turn around and surprised me by doing more to earn her love. That can be seen as a weak character but it made me feel for Han Shou on so many levels, he's honest and sincere to a fault, he doesn't get discouraged even in the face of betrayal, and he cherishes Qian Qian the way a woman should be cherished (save for that rape attempt of course). For instance, after Qian Qian's apparent betrayal and Han Shou came back for a revenge, he didn't even have the heart to wake her up from sleep, and then proceeded to tell her he was willing to forgive her if she was just a little bit sad about his exile, aww! It was wrong and out of line what he did, but he redeemed himself by loving Qian Qian unconditionally, so I was mollified and willing to overlook that one mistake.

Title Love in Between Spoiler
Su Yunlo crashes Mulian's wedding. Zhuyan crashes her wedding. And sadly no one crashes Manqing's wedding! WTF!!!
I wasn't worried about that because I knew Man Qing wouldn't agree to it, but I too, was half expecting her to protest at the last minute. I guess she was disillusioned by Wen Si Yuan's betrayal and begrudgingly accepted the marriage to get back at him, which is evident when she accused him of pushing her to Mu Ying. *sigh Why does love always turn people foolish in dramas?

Worried about what? I agree on Mu Ying, he wouldn't have insisted on marrying Man Qing if he didn't really want her. I tend to ignore plot holes as long as the show is enjoyable to me.

So, I'm only on episode 6. Although I'm enjoying the drama (I'm an easy sell!), I am really bugged by one question.…
The martial arts technique was developed by Chong Ye (Xue Zhi's dad) and Yuwen Yu Pan (Mu Yuan's dad), so it belonged to the Hall of Flames. It was in Sword Manor's safekeeping because of a 5 years deal to appease the martial arts world after Chong Ye went crazy killing people due to a cultivation gone wrong. Essentially, there's no reason to duplicate it because it's always been in the right hand, but what happens after the 5 years deal is another story.

I see, it's tagged as melodrama on MDL so I figured it must be an emotionally heavy drama, which I think I need to be in the right mood for. I'm not looking for rom-com per se, just feel-good dramas in general, preferably costume dramas. Heh

Lol, I've been watching wayyy too many angsty/melo dramas during social distancing so now I want something light and happy. One of the reasons why I still couldn't start the Rise of Phoenixes. Plan to watch Oh My Emperor for Zhao Lu Si and Xiao Zhan after Tiger and Rose, would love to watch Ding Yu Xi in another costume drama but unfortunately he's not the main lead in those.

I know how that feels, that's why I desperately wanted something sweet and fluffy after finishing episode 30. I've been binge-watching Tiger and Rose to lift up my mood but I've arrived at the angsty part. *groan Tiger and Rose has been so good at injecting humor in between the serious parts but now they've gone the usual angsty route - pushing you away for your own good. *double groan

You stopped at episode 27? Watch episode 28! The scene after Man Qing's wedding where Wen Si Yuan came to apologize is sooo good, a little heartbreaking but powerful, ugh, even their breakup is well done.

They technically did but they arrived too late. Wen Si Yuan and the others were just outside the yard when the wedding ceremony ended.

I'm dreading to watch Man Qing and Wen Si Yuan's reunion because she's technically married, I hope they handle this properly.

What in the world happened to this great show from episodes 31-33? What was once a mature and deep plot-driven…
"doing stupid shit because he thinks he knows what best for his partner without even bothering to ask"

Actually, I feel Qing Ci has been consistently doing that, I rarely see him consult with Yun Luo about what she wants to do or what plans she might have, he mostly plans everything on his own and just lay it out on her.

I don't like it when a drama pulls the noble idiot card because it is never done right and it's a waste of everyone's time when the couple is pulled apart for the sake of unnecessary angst.

I haven't watched the latest episodes but I have to agree with you. This is still a good wuxia but by episode 30, the mystery and slow reveal plot feels tired, the pacing a little sluggish, and the romance is so-so, I enjoy the secondary couple but I feel like all I'm getting is crumbs. I'm still watching but I feel like the excitement has worn off.

"And well I guess it is a cultural thing but I only found the comedic aspect after the FL goes to ML's city."

I have to agree on the cultural thing, a lot of the dialogues and references are a mix of ancient and modern Chinese cultures and society so the meaning might get lost in translation during subbing. I'm a Chinese speaker so I have no trouble understanding or getting the meta, but it might be less relatable to non-Chinese audiences. The romance is the gold part for me, I seriously cannot stop watching the leads, especially the way Han Shou looks at Qian Qian. *fans self

I'm still up to episode 11 but I'm enjoying this a lot than I thought I would. The pacing has slowed down for me but the enjoyment level is still there.

I think the show is meant to be enjoyed with a suspension of disbelief as it's clearly not taking itself seriously and poking fun at itself with lots of reverse-gender social references, which I think is pretty refreshing and entertaining.

I don't think Xiao Qian is an airhead, maybe a little naive and obtuse, but a charming and lovable girl nonetheless. I think the reason she couldn't excel or control the direction of her story is because she doesn't realize or factor in her existence (her character is supposed to be dead by now), which has indirectly influenced the many characters in the story. She is actively trying to steer her story back on track, not realizing her efforts are futile because Han Shou has fallen for her instead of the original heroine. Also, Xiao Qian strives for 2 purposes in this story, one is to stay alive, second is to escape it by completing Han Shou and Chu Chu's original love story, which might explain why she disregard everything else to accomplish her missions.

For me, the dialogues, the servants-masters dynamic, and the silly misunderstandings are hilarious watch, I sometimes have to rewind a couple of times just to catch the face expressions/reactions of every character, which I think are very well done, I especially enjoy Zi Rui's comical face.

WHAT.A.CRACK.DRAMA! I cannot stop laughing at the craziness of it all, not to mention the very expressive actors, endearing characters and OMG, leads' chemistry! I have so much fun watching, granted I'm only up to episode 6 but I can feel this becoming one of my favorites.
