Kind of watching this because I'm watching at 2.0 speed after episode 4, I wouldn't say Do Gyum is evil but he…
Nice to see you too! :) I enjoy a healthy dose of jealousy in dramas, but only if the characters themselves enjoy it, otherwise it feels unpleasant and borderline possessive. In recent episodes, it's clear Hyun Joo is uncomfortable around Do Gyum, she wouldn't even call him for help when she was in pain, which gives a pause considering how close they are. I enjoy the misunderstanding around the coworkers that their boss is gay and harboring feelings for Do Gyum, that was hilarious to watch. But the pacing is definitely too slow for my taste.

"I don’t understand why puppy doesn’t have the same imprint as DH in SB life."Simple, he's not the main lead.…
Kim Min Kyu is credited as special appearance in SBS official page, so safe to say he's not the second male lead. His character was probably given more screen time because of how well received he was in episode 5/6. It's funny that the actual second male lead gets pushed into minor role territory to make way for puppy.

I agree that the main leads are all poor communicators, which is one of the reasons Dae Hyun and Yeon Joo's relationship broke down. I was low-key hoping Dae Hyun and Yeon Joo could overcome their differences and make it work. Also, Saet Byul's puppy love is too strong that it gave me an impression of an unhealthy relationship if she was to date Dae Hyun.

I think this show is very much slice of life, with a bit of inappropriate comedic relief. Its portrayal of prejudice faced by Dae Hyun's family as the middle class, Saet Byul as an orphan and ex-iljin, and Dal Shik as a social misfit are a testament of that slice of life. I agree that the characters aren't properly fleshed out, mostly because the show is unable to find the balance between slice of life and comedy. It has glimpses of potential, especially in emotional scenes, but alas, the execution is rudimentary at best.

I'm at episode 11 of Mystic Pop Up bar, I'm dreading to finish it because of how much I love it. I'm not ready to say goodbye to the trio. My favorite episode is actually Juliet's Tempation, the parodies of Romeo and Juliet, A Wife's Temptation, and Star Wars had me in stitches. I might rewatch the show after I finish the final episode lol.

This show is moving at the speed of a snail, the plot isn't moving much past the ML and SML bickering over FML, and there is no progress or revelation about the past lives either, which is its main selling point. Yawn.

Whoa, he has a limp? I didn't notice.
I'll rewatch his scenes later. But the serial killer is in B world, it doesn't make sense if A world Jae Hyuk is the one with the limp. I actually suspect it's Sung Wook, Seo Kyung's step-brother, because he claimed to be the killer and he might have seen the killer before, it could be his B world self.

Just my observations, but I think it’s interesting to see people in general paint 2ML as some kind of evil,…
Kind of watching this because I'm watching at 2.0 speed after episode 4, I wouldn't say Do Gyum is evil but he is a bit controlling/possessive when it comes to Hyun Joo. Understandably, he is worried about Hyun Joo because Ji Woo is showing stalker qualities but it's not his place to decide who she should meet, which is what he's doing when he forbade her to meet Ji Woo just the two of them in recent episode. Hyun Joo is her own person and I don't doubt no one can order her around, but she cares a lot about Do Gyum and I feel like he's using that affection to guilt trip her. I'm not saying Ji Woo is better than Do Gyum because both guys have issues, I honestly like both of them but I don't think they're right for her.

Purely because of the limp I'm thinking its Woo Jae Hyuk - also he's a fleshed our character and close to Do Won…

"It’s strange in my opinion how people see romantic chemistry."
People see what they want to see, which applies to you and me too. I honestly see more romantic chemistry between Yoo Jung and Yoon Kyun Sang in Clean With Passion For Now, that drama actually gave me butterflies.

I feel so sad for Kang Ji Wook. I hope they don't have him end up alone and heartbroken. Ex-gf and evil corporate…
Poor Ji Wook, he doesn't stand a chance with Saet Byul and his career is in risk because of her. I shudder to think the photos the paparazzi and the iljins have on him.

"I don’t understand why puppy doesn’t have the same imprint as DH in SB life."
Simple, he's not the main lead. He might stand a chance if he was the second lead, it's not unheard of in k-dramas, unfortunately, he's only a cameo and they've stretched his appearance way too much.

Aside from the siblings vibe, Dae Hyun and Yeon Joo's relationship took up half of the show that it's hard to see Dae Hyun falling for Saet Byul so soon after that 2 years relationship ended, it might have worked better if this was a daily drama. There isn't much character development in Dae Hyun because he's always been a good buy, maybe too much of a pushover, which he's slowly trying to overcome, but honestly I like him the way he is. Everyone else is growing at a steady rate, especially Saet Byul, she still has glimpses of problematic issues but very much toned down since the first episode. I can tell this drama has stories to tell but it falters in execution, they did badly in the opening week, which was the make or break it, and they truly messed it up. Yoo Jung and Kim Min Kyu are the only reason I'm watching, but I'm starting to lose interest this week I ended up binge-watching Mystic Pop-up Bar and Train instead.

Puppy is the MVP this episode! I feel so sorry for him. Me and another user here has joint custody of him since…
*raises hand Me! I'm the weekend owner of puppy. I'll take puppy for a walk for anyone who's interested in seeing him, haha.

I haven't seen the latest episode (got stuck binge-watching Mystic Pop Up Bar, which is so awesome everyone should watch lol) but I did manage to watch some snippets. I love that puppy's reaction to the work T-shirt is the same as Saet Byul, it's a couple Tee! Lol. Also love that puppy is not a complete doormat, he was using Eun Byul's info to get better treatment from Saet Byul lol.

As much as I like Dae Hyun and Saet Byul as individuals, I'm not excited about the romance aspect. To me, Saet Byul's infatuation for Dae Hyun runs a little too hot, while Dae Hyun runs cold at times, it doesn't help that he treats her like a little sister, their relationship dynamic feels out of balance or not in sync. On paper, they have a comfortable relationship and compatible characters, but in reality, they lack the chemistry. I feel Dal Shik and Geum Bi have more chemistry than everyone else in the show.

When you start your comment with "I find it very weird that this drama gets any rating at all and some people like it ??!!" you're implying there's something wrong with people who enjoy this show, which proves my point that you were questioning their taste. It'd have been different if you phrase it like, "I don't get the humor in this drama", simple but straight to the point. It's fine if you don't get the jokes or feel the humor, but please do not drag other viewers down the mud for watching and liking the show.

Sounds like a fair deal except weekend is the real deal, I can spend a whole day with him on weekend, so you take Mon-Thu, I'll have him all to myself on weekend. :)

Why would you have to bring up IOTNBO in the first place? It's good that you're enjoying this drama but why mention…
Why not? OP only mentioned s/he enjoyed this more than IOTNBO, s/he didn't belittle nor said s/he disliked IOTNBO. Everyone has a right to an opinion. However, how people choose to respond is a different matter altogether, ultimately, it's up to you to respond positively or with objective criticism. And if you read other people's responses, you'd see no one is putting down IOTNBO, some are watching both shows and mentioned what appeals to them in both. I personally have not seen IOTNBO and mentioned the reason why I am not watching.

I'm not watching IOTNBO so I can't make the comparisons, but I did read some issues about the FL in IOTNBO, something…
That's not how a show romanticize a character. They mostly paint a grey character with tragic background to justify a certain behaviors in order to gain viewers' sympathy and empathy, ultimately, using a poor, pathetic excuse of love conquers all to redeem said character. Side eye Born Again.

I like the influence Dae Hyun and his mom have on Saet Byul, but other than that, I'm not feeling the romantic relationship trajectory between Dae Hyun and Saet Byul. I see her feelings for him as nothing more than infatuation. I want to see both of them grow up as characters individually, with or without each other.

Writing flaw is a big issue because there's a thin line between misunderstood and romanticized. After Born Again early this year, I'm too traumatized to pick up a show with questionable motives.

I also didn't like Saet Byul being touchy feely with Dae Hyun because he was obviously uncomfortable in some parts, also because he was in a relationship at the time and I thought it was a little disrespectful to Yeon Joo. But seeing her interactions with puppy (like moving in with him readily), I realized Saet Byul doesn't have the consciousness between a man and a woman, she's naturally comfortable with the opposite sex probably because she trained with a lot of them in her father's dojang, so she doesn't quite understand that boundaries. I was afraid she'd cross more boundaries by kissing Dae Hyun when he was asleep, but am glad that she stopped. I honestly prefer puppy better than Dae Hyun for her.

Lol, had the same thought when I saw the word stalker. But I wouldn't wish Born Again on my worst enemy, that show belongs to the trash.
