Am I the only person that thinks this show should be renamed to Diaries of a Stalker??? By ep 10 I don't see the…
Stalker may be too strong of a word. I see Saet Byul's character as an infatuated girl who strives to get close to her crush, harmless stuff except for the unwanted kiss. Also, she's willing to back off when she realizes she may be in the way of his relationship and doesn't do anything to mess things up between Dae Hyun and Yeon Joo, she even offers to explain the misunderstanding to Yeon Joo.
The whole drama is filled with parodies of other dramas and movies. I think 2-3 per episode. It is not even subtle,…
Lots of the parodies flew by me because I did not watch Fiery Priest and Parasites, half of the jokes in this drama get a smirk out of me but nothing laugh out loud materials. However, I enjoy this more for its emotional scenes because I tend to relate to those better.
Plenty of emotional scenes in this week's episodes but the ones that got to me was between Saet Byul and Dae Hyun's mom, and the one where she secretly visited Eun Byul's dorm and overheard her sister's affection for her.
im on the minority who enjoys this more than iotnbo, who's with me?
I'm not watching IOTNBO so I can't make the comparisons, but I did read some issues about the FL in IOTNBO, something about her subtle cruelty that's overlooked and her character is romanticized, which is a big no no for me, so I'm staying far, far away from it. I'm okay with this because apart from the racism issues, other issue like violence is being addressed and Dae Hyun is actively educating Saet Byul that violence isn't the answer, and it's shown that Saet Byul is receptive of the lesson and growing up as a character. Not to mention, episode 10 shows a lot of growing up in most of the characters, like Yeon Joo, Dae Hyun, Saet Byul, Dae Hyun's parents.
Dang, missed opportunity to be an awesome wife character, I wish they didn't turn her evil because it's redundant in Le Qing. She's shown to be sharp witted and supportive of her husband, it'd make more sense to keep in line with her character, like helping her husband from the sideline and possibly working together with him and Li Ge. What a shame.

Ratings on MDL don't often reflect a show's quality, I think plenty of people decide by reading comments/reviews, which is why it's always encouraging to read positive and strong comments/reviews of a show.

Different strokes for different folks. I rate as I watch, if I feel it deserves lower/rating over the course of the show I will modify it as such, it helps me to remember and decide among the many shows I'm watching which is worth keeping up.
Uh oh, I'm slightly anxious for Dae Hyun's parents now that they're tied to Yeon Joo's mom due to work. Also worried about puppy because of that sneaky paparazzi. Shit, I really don't want it to come between choosing his career and Saet Byul because I'm 100% sure he's going to choose the former, not that Saet Byul will mind but my shiper heart is not ready, they're so adorable together.
The plot hasn't moved much this week. I usually hate stalkerish behavior but I feel for Ji Woo's character, he's just so earnest and honest, he readily admitted to his wrong doings and doesn't have qualms about making it up to Hyun Joo.
He claimed to be Emperor Ai (Emperor Xiao Ming's brother), who went missing 10 years ago and thought to be dead. Fortunately or not, he was poisoned with a very rare poison 10 years ago when he pretended to be the young Emperor Ai upon his father's request, the poison being one of the evidence that he's the real Emperor Ai (even though he isn't). The real Emperor Ai sacrificed himself by drinking poison so that Qing Ci could enact his plans - pretend to be Emperor Ai, fake an allegiance with Wei Ning Hou, fake Emperor Xiao Ming's death, take over the throne, and then expose Wei Ning Hou as the evil mastermind behind everything.
I hope that's not confusing.
