I watched this out of curiosity since the iqiyi heat value surpassed another drama that was expected to be a summer hit (but isn't meeting expectations) and was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't say it's out of this world, but it's quite good and an easy watch since every episode is only 20 minutes. The english subs are terrible though lol.

The script is fast paced in the beginning, but gets draggy at certain parts and is overall less engaging for me than MLC. I was mainly watching it for CY's acting because I don't think the FL actress was the right person for the role (a shame, because the character was actually written really well). I agree about the dubbing, but if you like CY it doesn't hurt to try as this was the drama that put him back on the map after a few years without dramas airing.

This is actually not the scriptwriter's first script. She also wrote for Love and Redemption, but in my opinion this script is loads better.

Yes, it is doing very well considering the genre is unpopular in comparison with romance. What I meant by "fans can only do so much" is that they can't fight against rate bombing/paid bots that downvote so it will need the help of the average drama enjoyers who are watching as well.

Fans can only do so much. From what I saw, Cheng Yi fans worked their butts off promoting, doing data, and even giving away free memberships to watch the drama. Technically it isn't ended tomorrow as it's just the fast track, and it's still airing on CCTV. The Hello Saturday episode featuring the three leads hasn't aired yet either. It won't be forgotten, as it's one of the few dramas this year which has gotten popular purely through word of mouth and not marketing.
