As someone who watched the first 5 episodes and immediately ran to read the full novel because of Hua Yong I want to point out that his character is a compelling black lotus because he has no remorse at all. He was genuinely sad that SSY found out too early because of the earthquake but he did not regret anything he has done so far. A fresh take to all other scum gongs in danmei who eventually regret their sins to their partner. HY is manipulative and stays so although he did not lie anymore after the earthquake. He still avoids questions but he doesn't ever tell any lies to SSY anymore. My absolute favourite character in any danmei so far and also in any BL. He is evil and stays evil while not really doing evil stuff later on (steering X Holding to legal bussiness, helping HS, donating money left and right, cares for and loves his family and also his friends SWL and GT)

I agree with you wholeheartedly. This level of directing ruins the scenes and lessen the series quality. Abwarten position for HY actor and fully dressed on the upper body after the kiss and while doing the deeds is weird. don't need nudity but at least film from the bare shoulders and don't cut out all deep kissing moments

Although I love this series I don’t think it’s a masterpiece by any means. Directing is at least weak if not abysmal. The editing is also very unprofessional. The acting is very solid but only for HY and GT, SSY is pretty ok and SWL actor is very unconvincing. So if MDL was a platform for objective rating then 8.1 is too much. But seeing the amount of shows with 10 point reviews and ratings based only on whether love the show or not I think I would also rate this higher with an 8.5

I’m confused about which factor defines the ABO gender. From intro in ep1 most watchers assume that humans with AB blood type don’t exist anymore and so blood type A means Alpha, B will become Beta an O will present as Omega. So which blood type does Hua Yong have then? How come no one questions his Enigma gender? The novel states he presented relatively late without elaborating whether his doctors knew that he is an Enigma while some from his family thought he was an Omega. Even after reading the novel with all extra chapters I don’t have an answer. Can someone help please?
