FanXiao: "With you around, every moment is happy." Truly a wonderful line/scene. The villain in the story who still believes he is lying with this sentence but it is the truth for him, he just needs some detours to realise later that he wasn't lying in this moment.

I gave up trying to see any reasonable behaviour from people who rated this show with 1 to 3. But this does not only happen to Desire but apparently also to other shows, the difference is that low-rating givers for Desire 'claim' to like or stan the second couple. frankly maybe only half of them really like second CP, the others may just be haters in general or rabid fans of other shows.

At this point of the story (ep6) I don't think the creators (or even the author of original IP) wants anyone to root for FX or have much sympathy, maybe except for his lost mother. The way of storytelling is, for me at least, very on point, FX is the bad guy. Although sweet or intimate moments were shown it's because one fell in love and the other is scheming (at least in his self perception). Thats why I like this show so much and find it interesting. Later on it depends on the show creators and actors talent in storytelling to convince the audience that this pairing should be endgame. For me it's one of the most logical happy ending that I've ever read with such a scum character in the main pairing, simply because the road to forgiveness is written very well and one rare example for a time jump which makes sense.

You Shu Langs answer to Fan Xiaos dumb question about who he would save from drowning is so 'him' but also so opposite of the truth. Shu Lang would give his all to save both of them while he himself would drown due to exhaustion. I think deep down Fan Xiao knows this, he can read people pretty well although he is pretty oblivious about himself at this point of the story

Fan Xiao changed even before his evil doings was found out by You Shu Lang. His character development is pretty impressive

Funny how the comments from the moral-police-pleebs using the most rude language, calling people mentally ill and even call out for hate against creators and actors. A sane and sensible person decides about watching or dropping, comment on characters abd plot points but those who perceived themselfs 'morally superior' in this comment section are neither sane nor sensible nor polite.

I've also read the full novel (not in English) and I think in comparison to other book adaptations this year from China this one has kept the most plot points from book to show (so far). Although some aspects of YSL personality don't come across as well as the book and the relationship with LZ felt rushed but I still think this is the most intact transformation from one medium to another. Location change from China to Thailand is little bit forced though. It makes no sense that YSL wouldn't catch up with Thai language although he has to work abroad. Like most basic sentences from FX and he has no clue about their content.

Ep3 still looks very solid to me. As expected comments going wild and people criticising SA in the plot. Throwing words likes romanticise and such and even shading audience. For me this series does not romanticise SA at all because immediately after YSL woke up he states to his supposed friend FX that a crime happened to him and he investigated the crime with utmost priority himself. It is what it is, no sugarcoating from book nor script. As an audience one can decide to drop out if it's triggering but to label a fictional piece which has dark elements as bad is condescending.

They just hijack any narrative or make things up out of thin air to hammer in their insane beliefs. also I think strategically they want to rope in some QDJ solo fans who are also toxic to HX

yes exactly brand collaborations are decided by the brands own evaluations and they reach out. also wtf a talent management company always have strategic considerations in how much resources they put into individual artist. what are those fuckers thinking about NJ, are they a charity organisation which should treat each orphan the same? I give up please just spam this comment section with your holy show which is not related to this one. you do you. I personally don't see so much similarities. having a red flag character in the main pairing is one of the most common tropes in any BL or even in any hetero romance. To my shore is a setting with older characters whose personality is so different from RL mains but no just lump it all together as you wish. I'm annoyed even as a person who loved RL and even rewatched it. Don't want to imagine how it must seem to a person who did not liked RL to come into this comment section and see how it's pested with RL stans here

polyamory is too advanced for China? where do you get this from? this novel which the show is based may not have it but there are are danmei works with this theme. please don't generalise the mindset of more than 1 billion people. And before anyone assume I'm being offended out of nationalistic motives, no I'm not from China nor do I have Chinese ancestors.

I hope they keep as much of the atrociousness from ML towards MC as possible in this adaptation, don't water it down but tell the story as it was written. You Shu Lang is one of my favourite characters from danmei. I tend to like the unhinged psychopaths but You Shu Lang is super interesting as a sane and good guy.

oh my many comments always bring up Revenged Love as a comparison. I happen to like RL very much but this obsession over it is off putting for me. this drama stands on it's own. the common thing it has with RL is the contemporary setting and no fantasy elements. that's all, but the same applies to many many other dramas so why always state RL as the pinnacle of CBL and bring it to any other drama pages? those fans put me off so much

MDL should reconsider allowing ratings after at least one third of episodes are out. I don't understand how one can rate a 15 episodes show after only watching 2 of them. The first 2 episodes are promising (from the perspective of a book reader, finished reading)

Yeah I know there are some romance turned to bromance but in this case the cast list included a male actor for the role of Lu Zhen in To My Shore which means a main character is gay otherwise they would have to cast a female for Lu Zhen
