MDL should reconsider allowing ratings after at least one third of episodes are out. I don't understand how one can rate a 15 episodes show after only watching 2 of them. The first 2 episodes are promising (from the perspective of a book reader, finished reading)

Yeah I know there are some romance turned to bromance but in this case the cast list included a male actor for the role of Lu Zhen in To My Shore which means a main character is gay otherwise they would have to cast a female for Lu Zhen

To my shore can't really be changed to a bromance imo because it's based on the novel Four-faced buddha. The plot would not make sense if the relationship between the characters is platonic

one thing I couldn't figure out after watching the show and also reading the book: why does Hua Yong keep calling SSY "Mr. Sheng" throughout the story? even his 32 exes called him by his first name. HY and SSY were dating for a whole year and even after marriage he didn't change. Can some Chinese speakers give some insights on this or some theories?

thanks for the video. once again I like the promo works for this couple so much, they break typical CP settings like the enigma/top holds the bouquet and throws it like a bride. they also styled Enigma actor more feminine than the Alpha actor who is supposed to be the bottom. Please let them be the fictional CP to loosen up the heteronormative takes in BL watchers

I don't think the screen time for GT an SWL is too little. The problem was nearly half of ep1 it was about GT and then it was so unevenly dispatched. Overall the screen time for 3rd (GT) and 4th (SWL) leads as billed in the trailer was on point imo, not too much not too less. The problem was like making whole 5 mins of GT staring at a mirror or SWL texting a whole novel and repetitive curses about omega scents. I'm pissed at creative choices at many points but screentime amount is not the problem, it's content in scenes and distribution over episodes

yes you are right I also looked up synopsis and overall score to begin a show. but after this Desire experience I won't do it anymore. I hope future viewers won't be affected to at least start watching Desire and build their own opinion

although I don't think a MDL score will have much impact on their careers and future projects but even if it's only a small impact those second cp fans (who downvoted 1 or 2) shot themselves in the foot.

who ever said that people who wished to see more Gao Tu is stupid? it's a preference, an opinion as valid as any other. you just voiced the first statement with is it a crime so I'm confused. many second cp fans or Gao Tu fans don't speak about main cp, but there are some who dragged them down. I don't see people replying to those neutral second cp fans, only to the second kind who in one breath elevated second cp and bashed main cp.

yeah the watching experience was great. I haven't been following a show while it's airing that often. I voiced criticism about creative choices and dare to give a small rating bump in my review. but I see so many people who are focusing on one negative point (second cp, last ep, Hua Yongs character, grape incidents) and down vote a whole show with 16 episodes and overall 4 characters. it's bananas. next time I will join you guys giving out 10s like it on sale

Yeah it's a roller coaster ride here in this comment section. there were positive and negative opinions and but from the moment I started to look at this section (about ep 8) I saw at least 30% rage or hate. Hope we will see each other in a more peaceful comment section in the future

omegaverse is an overall trope. it means people have second biological sex in this fantasy setting. it's not a crime to want to see an omega in such a story but vice versa it's also not a crime not to feature an omega as a main character in such stories. there are works out there with Alpha Beta or Alpha Enigma Alpha. I don't understand the complain here

this is the first time I can relate to viewers who give out a 10/10 for a show or movie. this MDL platform does have sooo many trolls who don't care about basic decency or at least try to be objective to their best degree. to down vote the score people write reviews where they give story and acting a score over 8 and then an overall score with 2. like what you mean? judge a fictional work as a whole. Desire is not the highest quality work but it's definitely not below 5. give a low score as a form of hate seems to be accepted here. so I hope new watchers in the future who likes the show just give out 9 and 10 from their gut feeling. also it seems country related because Korean and Thai shows often get over 8 and Japanese and Chinese shows have a harsher rating.

only a few of those who complains for GT and SWL are throwing shade at the main cp or their actors. the loudest and toxic ones won't be nice anyway and pull criticism out of thin air. objectively I think even if you don't like HY as a character you can admit that the actor did a decent job. For me personally I think Eliot was very very good, especially in the scenes where he has to act innocent, there is a big risk of overacting. Also in Enigma mode he did just as well, no overacting at all. By now everyone has their bias and mine is Eliot but I can still acknowledge good work if I see it, for example I can't care less about Gao Tu in the show but I always thought and voiced that Seeky Li is doing a great job

I agree there was bad acting of the frenzy rut scene. Throughout the series this actors performance was the weakest since he is inexperienced and doesn't have talent imo. But the rut scene turning to be so off-putting is the fault of directing and also editing primarily. My example for it is the SWL with Peanut scene, same mediocre actor, bad child actor but still the scene worked well, because director managed to wring it right somehow

wow I'm not the only one having beef with those billions of teddy bears on their shirts in tge domestic scene. help that really was too much and took me out while watching the scene and mind you this is a series where people stink up the room in visibly in different colors but I lost it at the teddy bears

I read the novel and I think the ending for GT and SWL was not rushed in there, even without the extra chapters I felt it was fine for them
