bro this drama is so GOOD 😠i think what really sets it apart is how you can actually FEEL the characters falling in love, with every action, every moment together and every sentence, it's just.. palpable. so sweet and touching. fantastic acting!
really looking forward to this (as i looooved cutie pie). i kinda wish we get something where the main couple has such good communication skills that they resolve challenges TOGETHER rather than being sad separately and jumping to major negative conclusions but it is what it is. i guess they'd be more tears before they're securely together.
also - is anyone else disappointed they didn't get to meet in mum's world yet? i was kind of anticipating it since they lead us to believe they saw each other at the bar at first...
ok now that it's completed: this wasn't as bad as some people say - it started off strong but fell through in the last 2-3 eps. they should have had two more eps to let the plot develop and breathe.
three things made the quality decline significantly: - the confession scene. i don't think i need to elaborate here. - the way it overlapped with the accident scene w/o letting the two MCs date first and develop their relationship. this kind of lessened the impact - their love wasn't as believable. - seunghyun's acting was very unreliable - sometimes good, sometimes not. unfortunately, the 'not' parts were when he really had to deliver, emotionally, so idk.
what i liked: - the first few eps were great. it had a strong start imo. fun and unassuming. - minyeong and muyeoung - i think both actors did great playing these characters. ko chanbin is hella cute, i'd love to see him in something else as well.
still waiting for the day korea makes a BL that's at least half as good as semantic error...
Just finished watching and I rushed here to make sure it wasn’t just me! Oh, so there was another actor before?…
Yes, the previous actor for the role of Mu Yeong was Nam Yoonsung. The drama was fully shot even, so they had to re-shoot once they removed him from the production. Their budget had probably taken a hit but it was a good decision to re-shoot, considering all. Plus, on the bright side, the new actor is sooo fine, I'm glad we got to see him in this role.
I don't want to blow anyone's bubble but the confession scene on EP 7 was filmed one actor at time, they were…
i think they just re-used footage from the first run before the re-cast mu yeong. otherwise, that would be a pretty amateur mistake, directive-wise (to not plan that one actor is taller than the other and he needs to look UP not down when speaking)
Ep 7 felt a littl off...as in the editing. At first I thought maybe they used the scene they filmed with the other…
a lot of people on reddit were saying they tried to re-shoot as little as possible so your original idea of keeping footage from the first run sounds absolutely plausible (especially since the more they re-shoot, the more expensive it would be).
i think if they had conflicting schedules, they would have at least planned to direct in a way that he's talking to someone taller than him. making the actor look downward just screams amateur directing mistake...
Gosh! What have they done to this drama? It started out as so sexy, funny and quirky! Since EP 6, it's just a…
I have a feeling they used the old footage from the first time they shot the drama and then only filmed the Mu Yeong scene with the new actor... it looks like Seon Ho was looking at someone shorter than him...
the way Seon Ho looked like he was talking to someone shorter in the confession scene absolutely threw me off :D - not sure if it's bad camera angles or they simply didn't re-shoot the scene and he was looking at the prev. actor, but damn - what a bad scene, direction-wise! the acting was also pretty bad (from Seung Hyun)... not sure what happened this ep, but that wasn't it.
a few random, disconnected notes on this: - i adore the plot, what an unexpectedly great series! love the fantastical element. - if someone as fine as yu dam asks me to date, i'd immediately agree, no questions asked. - why was the dennis concert in such a TINY ass venue? i was expecting a popular idol for korean standards to have a much larger venue booked.
hmmm idk what to think about the finale. everything was resolved rather quickly and i can't say i loved the screen time they spared on the newly-introduced couple. i wish they progressed the story of alex and RJ (we were all waiting!), but it is what it is.
my biggest beef with the show is the 'abusive dad' trope that they introduced in the second-to-last ep and lowkey swept under the rug in the finale. like what was the point? i wish they never introduced this. i wish the dad was just against it, rather than full-on abusive. i absolutely refuse to forgive him or accept this development. like oh, he beat the shit out of xun an? no prob as long as he accepts the boyfriend. wtf??
it was an overall good show - mature, great acting and not too predictable (they really avoided some of the more cliche tropes which i appreciated). however, some of the new story threads were a bit unnecessary and others were not handled well. maybe this just sets the scene for s2? hope so!
