Great article! I will admit to not rushing to watch Mr. Queen and then I have now rewatched it 3 times! It is a great pick me upper. I just feel good after watching it. It has become a lasting favorite of mine.
I've watched all but two on this list and those I couldn't find with Eng Subs. Will look for those two again as they do turn up out of the blue occasionally.
I think something that needs to be noted is that although there are "rape" scenes in a lot of Lakorns none that I have seen are graphic. I think that is why I can continue to watch these shows. I am drawn into these train wrecks only if I know they are going to have a happy ending.
I also think part of my attraction is that there has been a person or two in my life I really would have enjoyed slapping, but socialital pressure deterred me from acting on that desire. So, here I can watch in vicarious pleasure when some biotch or menotch gets the sh#t slapped out of them. (I will admit to turning down the volume as all the screaming that goes with these scenes raise my anxiety level.)LOL
Some favorites of mine on your list is the older version of "Lost in the moon's shadow" Game Rai, Game Rak...the first part was especially sweet., Leh Ratree, Only a man, not a magician...really enjoyed the 2001 version, and unwilling bride.
My favorite Slap and Kiss Lakorn which is not on this list is the 1999 version of Ngao Asoke. This version is heavier on the dialog which made me understand the cultural reasons whey the characters acted as they did. You may want to include it on your next list. Thank you for your article, not as many people are familiar with Lakorns and are missing out on some real cultural gems into another society.
I liked it mainly because of the more adult theme. That being said, parts were disjointed and maybe too much plot variations for only 10 episodes. But the tender loving moments carried me and I smiled a lot. The girl was a little too girlish for me, but that seems to be the Asian stereotypical desirable woman. But I will admit I will re watch it at a later date.
Now that you mention it does have the double body similarity but everything else aren't though.Male lead's brain…
Yeah, I agree this will be a brain teaser, whether it is well done or just badly directed/written. I like Victoria Song so I will stick it out. Her blank stares are getting to me though, so I hope she finds herself soon.
It sounds very close to Song Sanaeha which is a Thai Lakorn which I am watching. I plan to watch this one a little while after I finish SS as they are too similar to watch back to back.
It is a little similar to Mask in that the FL is probably a substitute. I'm not sure I really like it, but I will keep watching. I am on episode 8 now.
The male lead is the king of a small island nation. He was previously badly hurt by the female lead. The female lead has a canine tooth that makes her look extremely captivating when she smiles. When the female lead vanished, the male lead became extremely fond of sleeping because he did not want to miss her. As fate would have it, the male lead married the female lead in the end. He decided to properly torment that adorable yet horrible woman for a while…iqillyi

No joke, that freeze was crazy, we had two broken pipes but luckily they were on the outside spickets and we were able to just cap them off...well a neighbor did that for me. As it turned out most of my neighbors were not as lucky as we were and ended up having to turn their water off completely as their breaks were in their walls. So, I got to know most of my neighbors better as they came over with igloos to fill up with water and to shower. I went to Girl Scout Camp, which is in Pace Bend Park...back then we called it PaleFace Park , not sure when the name changed. But there was a Barbeque place on the corner which had old hunter fans on the patio and coke bottles in one of the old machines where you put your money in and pulled the bottles by the neck out of ice cold water. There is a large gas station there, which was always a shock for me to see every summer taking my daughters the the Girl Scout Camp in Pace Bend Park.
That is just weird but I was on the lake on one of those barges..."square dancing" and a huge storm blew out of nowhere...blowing water onto the barge and we all got wet and cold. I wonder if it was the same day. I can't remember if it was the 4th or not, but I do remember it was in the middle of summer.
My co-workers have long shaken their heads at me about my all thing Asian obsession. But, sadly, I have not been able to convert anyone. LOL

iQiyi.com Mainly has Chinese dramas and some Korean. lakornworld2.blogspot.com is Jasmine's site. I'm never ready for Texas Summers, they are too dang hot. This year has been relatively mild, but I try to go from one airconditioned oasis to the next. Otherwise, I want to be on the lake with a breeze. We went on a pontoon catamaran 4 hour cruise with 10 people for my grandson's birthday and it was very nice. We stayed far enough off shore to stay away from any mosquitos and the breeze was nice. It had a cover for shade that worked out nice. We ate a picnic lunch, birthday cake, swam and visited. The lakes are the best thing about Austin in my opinion.
