I didn’t watch Ashes of Love.
In ep 23 she was still intimidated by him. So funny how the father and daughter communicate silently and with their eyes. In the palace ZLS really look so good hugging pillars.

With the half piece of jade pendant her nickname was 弱 (ruo) which means weak. The other half of the pendant with the 女(nǚ, meaning female)was missing. With two pieces of the jade pendant her nickname is 嫋(niǎo).

Episode 23 where father and daughter visited LBY was so hilarious. CSS and her father's silent communication is so entertaining .CSS's father was so aghast at LBY's bluntness that he silently thought to himself this LBY really doesn't know how to talk . I like the way CSS communicated with her father with the her eyes darting towards the exit. Her father wanted to leave LBY's residence so desperately that he wrongly referred to himself as mother rather than father. Too funny. I watched that scene several times.

Her mother eventually realizes her mistake.

I was just wondering what kind of mother puts her daughter down like that and had the audacity to do so in front of the Emperor and the rest. Imagine how can CSS even hold her head high in front of the other ladies when her own mother belittle her like that.

ML didn’t want FL to know he’s still alive. He was seriously injured and my guess is he doesn’t know if he can live long and he doesn’t want to be a burden to her.

Totally agree with you @Bai Ying Hua. I’ve not watched L&R but she’s really good here. To me she’s very pretty. Her make up is well done.

It depends on what you deem as more important the food preparation or the plot. DWL-the food is simple daily sort of food because as the Chinese title 陪你一起好好吃饭 suggests, it's having a good meal together with you. The FL and ML will show that they are hands on in preparing the food. However with the Royal Feast, it's clearly someone else hands . All you see are these beautiful arrays of food. With Cupid's Kitchen, it focuses on Michelin prepared meals with some hands on from the ML and FL. However not much romance, only towards the end. It's more of Mentor/Mentee relationship on the overall. I think DWL is an easy watch so far. You'll be able to pick some cooking tips as well as try some recipes. Plot is simple. If you would have to choose between Cupid's Kitchen(40 episodes) or Dine With Love, go for the Dine With Love which will be airing episode 12 tonight . There's total of 16 episodes, only 2 episodes per week (except for the week it releases). It releases on Monday and Tuesday. Each episode is over just an hour long.

It's towards the end of the show. At some point they will have show that Empress Hu has two daughters. Empress Sun(YZJ) has two children- a daughter and a son who is the first son for ZZJ.

The Dowager Empress is a cunning one. She knew that Zi Jin was at the door so she deliberately question her son that he favours her. That's why he had to reply that all his concubines are the same in his heart which made Zi Jin angry with him and she refused to dine with him.

I’ve finished Cupid’s Kitchen and am watching Dine With Love which is still airing and this drama.

I don’t like her either. You would think she would be grateful to YZJ for saving her life when she was so sick. She’s manipulative. She knew that ZJ was at the door and she deliberately baited her son to say all the concubines are same in his eyes.

Glad to hear that I’m not the only one. I only have difficulty with 2nd and 3rd uncles.

The earlier episodes are quite confusing with so many people who look identical especially second and third uncle. Flogging is common in that era. It’s quite disconcerting.
