joo won is hands down the best actor in my book he was amazing in this (just like all his other roles)... I gave this a 9 instead of a 10 because the first 7 or 8 eps I liked but didn't love but once they added more comedy and the loveline I started to love it.
side note - I now need to rewatch bridal mask =)))
I was ify about watching this because its about a woman dying and I dont do sad dramas but when I read that she doesn't actually die I started watching it and ended up watching every eps in a row it was just that amazing. and oh man that was the best ending - the fact that she had already lived longer than she was told and that fact that the trial drug treatment was working on her and she might be one of those miracle cases was just sooo beautiful
This was really freaking good I liked it even more than the korean one which never happens for me ... the only thing the korean did better was the ending (the two friends fighting each other since thats what they loved to do) but besides that this was great
This show was super cute and I really enjoyed it but it had a couple big problems for me making me not love it ...
The first was that there are 3 couples either divorced or divorcing (one the husband cheated countless times and another the wife cheated and was a self absorbed b word) and all 3 couples got back together . It was like a walking ad saying do not divorce and it kind of bugged me.
The second was that da ji is called a genius countless times, she even got into an amazing university in America at 16. But yet the only time in the series that they showed her supposedly being a genius was giving her some math problem to solve. every other minute not only does she act nieve to the point of being conned countless times but she also lacks any common sense and acts like an airhead half the time (and not in the genius lost in his head way).
Wow this was seriously so freaking good I wish this had been longer ... Also I knew that cable shows could be more graphic/ intense but I had no idea that they could show girls naked and in such a graphic way that totally took me by surprise
Does anyone know the expected number of episodes for this drama?
Pretty much all family dramas get 50 episode orders and I read on dramabeans (I think) that this is also 50 ... The child actors will do 10 episodes for backstory with main actors the rest of the series
what the hell. was that really the end of the series? how can you have 48 episodes and end it on a freaking cliffhanger. did they not know that the series was getting cut 2 episodes or what. how can they never show us what happened to bok hee after she went to go get help in the states. seriously the last 15 mins when the series did a time jump and she was progressively worse was sooo freaking sad how can you end a series with that.
there were a few other problems also -
- what happened to bok hee's assistant/driver, he was always with her and did everything for her but disappeared in the middle of the series and nothing was ever mentioned about him again
- how is it that the kids didn't find out that hoon nam was really min soo (actually the fact that he was min soo at all was a little creepy I mean hello incest. he did make out with his biological sister at the start of the series and almost married her)
- speaking of soo jin, why did they have her leave the show with like 10 episodes left
- also the writers introduced a few plot points that never got used which I didn't really understand why. (like when bok hee signed over her money to that grandma they kept mentioning how the grandmas son would try to take the money and how bok hee had to remember to keep the papers with the info on it. why did they mention that on a bunch of different episodes if they were never going to use it as a plot point)
but ignoring all that I enjoyed most of this drama but for being such a long drama why did the ending feel so rushed
Just finished rewatching it (fourth drama I've ever rewatched) and I remember why this is one of my top five favorite dramas it's just so freaking good, even the second time around it was just as good =] I'll for sure be rewatching this again.
