I agree with you about Hidden Love. I just meant it’s pretty popular because it’s at #1 in YOUKU while When I Fly Towards You Is #2. I just don’t understand why HL is so popular because it’s not really that good, though I do like the actor in his last high school drama. I believe WIFTY is so much better in so many levels.

You’re missing out. It’s not a love triangle because Zai Zai unconditionally loves Lu Rang, and vice versa. He confesses his insecurity, but she reassures him. I think it’s just a moment to show that though others may have interest for the leads, their love for each other remains steadfast. This is the main theme of the drama—their steadfast love— besides friendship and growth. I hope you continue viewing. ❤️

It’s not long into the drama, that Lu Rang reciprocates her feelings in his quiet and subtle way. He does not verbalize it, but he shows it through his actions. Thus, I don’t really experience second hand embarrassment because he likes her as much she likes him. It’s a love story between an introvert and an extrovert.

Not your typical drama where there’s a SML harboring a crush on FL. 😆The FL is truly devoted to ML, and vice versa.

Seriously, they’ve been giving us an episode—sometimes two—a day; then nothing today!! Lu Rang finally asks Zai Zai out and I have to wait three days to see them on their first date. This is excruciating. 😩 Anyway, the episodes with his younger brother was really good and Zai Zai was instrumental in revealing to Lu Rang how much his younger brother idolized him. I love her character so much. She’s smart, strong and confident, kind, funny, and the epitome of joy.

I am watching Hidden Love with Zhao Lusi, a drama also based on a book of same writer of When I Fly Towards You. It’s really good, but I like When I Fly Towards You much more in terms of how it’s filmed aesthetically.

I woke up early expecting episode 19…but nothing!! 😫 I’m so annoyed. Can’t wait to see their first date. 💕

Recently the episodes have focused on second leads, which I know is part of dramas and I do like the secondary characters, but I watched dramas for main leads, so I find it a bit annoying because it takes away from the development of main leads’ relationship. Thus, what happens is the ending gets rushed. I’m like WTH! I’m hoping this does not happen. Episode 15 ends with a misunderstanding because Lu Rang has a hard time expressing himself and unintentionally hurts Zai Zai. For a character who is honest and forthright, she does not say anything and chooses to ignore him even though her heart is broken. It was painful to watch. Misunderstanding due to assumptions due to not communicating is a common trope, and they need to learn to communicate and be honest with each other. But I’m on Zai Zai’s side. Lu Rang needs to learn to open up to her. And am I the only one who hates Rang’s mother?? The lack of self awareness that she’s playing favorites and damaging her son’s emotional well being by comparing him to his brother and constantly being dissatisfied with him just shows her maternal ineptitude. Seriously, she needs a metaphorical 👋🏼 slap. That woman infuriates me. And he does not say anything because he’s a filial son and he’s so closed up! Ugh! Anyway, I’m a bit perturbed that I have to wait 15 hours for the next episode… I don’t like seeing Rang and Zai

I bought the YOUKU app. I think it’s $5 to $7 a month. The first episode with Eng sub is in YouTube.

Watched the first 5 episodes, and I love it so far. The leads have great chemistry. Just like the ML, you can’t help but fall for the FL’s endearing and infectious personality. I think this is the best Chinese high school drama I’ve seen so far despite the formulaic plot. It’s the casting and execution that matters most to me. Of course, it’s only been 5 episodes, and I’m sure it’ll get heavier, but the casting and acting is well done.
