Saw a post in IG of the bloodbath ending. Then read the posts here about the ending, where either there were confusion or laughter over it . . . so I’m not even going to watch the ending. Sigh.
Started watching this, and, so far, loving it. The FL reminds me of myself when it comes to romance books, films, singers… I have this awful tendency to ship. Because just like her, I’m a hopeless romantic. 🤣 The ML is a realist … well … more of a pessimist; after the honeymoon, love ends, relationships end. Still, we romantics hold onto the hope of love.
Anyway, love the leads. I have watched them in other dramas—The Silence of the Monster and Time and Him is Just Right —and they are wonderful and talented actors. And they are pretty yo look at. The ML had auburn hair in the last drama I watched. I like him better with his black hair.
After the latest episodes, I have whiplash from watching this. 🥴 So toxic. What a train wreck. But I’m staying till the end. I’m a bit of a sadist inflicting pain on my self as I watch them inflict pain on each other. The writers must have had fun writing the melodrama. Prob took inspiration from Thai lakorns. 🤣
I have found another happier, less toxic romance To Ship Someone.
Excuse me while I detoxify myself from all this and watch Back from the Brink.
Omfg…episode 13 was 🔥🔥🔥, and they were so adorable when they were affectionate and cute with each other. Then things spiraled into complete angst! The previews for the next two episodes just makes me want to scream in frustration. This is such an addictive train wreck of a drama. All I can say is if these two volatile, stubborn, passionate individuals do not have a happy ending after plunging into their toxic relationship because of both their destructive need for vengeance, I am going to be very pissed.
This drama reminds me of the historical bodice-ripping romance novels of the 80s, like Laurie McBain and Kathleen Woodiwiss, which I gorged on.
I am watching Back to the Brink (the best epic fantasy drama! Never a dull moment! The leads have such great chemistry. Love watching their relationship develop —a lot healthier than the leads in Circle of Love, that’s for sure—and the ML is so swoon worthy) and Mr. Insomnia Waiting For Love (formulaic plot but cute and funny) dramas to balance the angst.
Just watched the latest episodes. I love epic fantasy books and films since I was a child, but I could not get into Chinese epic fantasy dramas. I love Chinese modern romantic dramas. However, I love, love, love Back to the Brink!! The leads and story premise piqued my interest, and after watching the first episode I was hooked, line, and sinker. Every episode is as satisfying as the last one and builds the plot and develops the leads’ characters. I also am here for the leads’ chemistry.
Watching this for the leads, but OMG!! I want to slap silly the ML. I guess that’s what’s addictive; their toxic relationship because he’s an idiotic angry, vengeful man because of what happened to his parents. However, underneath the hard exterior is a warm and soft man. Plus this is a very sexy drama. A lot different than the white bread Chinese dramas I usually watch. 10 more episodes to go.
I haven’t finished it yet due to work and other dramas I’m watching. I read other reviews about the ending; it’s bittersweet, and now I’m a bit reluctant to watch the ending. But I will power through.
I guess now it’s a waiting game for me to see if any drama of the same or higher caliber of The Forbidden Flower arises. If anyone finds one please message me. Till then 🥺💔🌸🦋🌅☔️🐈🎨💐
The ending both real and unrealistic reality. Why how can you ask someone you love not to love someone else when…
He had told her previously that she was his last woman. I think that when we see her actions through our own lens we see it as utterly selfish. I think she was a bit childish in her needing him to re-affirm she was his last; however, I don’t think there was any question to him not keeping that promise because he knew in his heart that she was truly his last—the true and only love of his life—there would be no other. I think if the situation was reversed it would be the same for her. If that makes sense. I do understand though your perspective. We want those we leave behind to love again. I tell my hubby that if I died I want him to live on and be with someone else, and he just gives me the most incredulous look, like I’m nuts because how could anyone replace me? And for me, he would be my only and last love. I’m just a sappy romantic though. 🥰
