Title The Forbidden Flower Spoiler
I ugly cried the entire episode 24. Everything was so beautifully done—the romantic and wrenching proposal with the stars, to the traditional and extravagant wedding (hearing the vows and knowing it can’t be), to the snowy mountain and lake sorrowful confession of love (ugh! She wanted to sleep and he said he would sleep with her! I couldn’t keep the tears at bay), to the moment she walked into his arms in a sea of flowers he dedicated to her with smiles lighting their faces. 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸The ending before the credits knifed my heart. He kept everything of hers, and we see that he bought a black fish to accompany the pink one he nurtured and healed. We see the epiphyllum blooming two flowers!! I thought that was all symbolic of how present she is in his life and how he waits patiently to be reunited with her again. Seeing him heartbroken—Jerry Yan, I love you! Don’t cry—and then he hears her call out his name, I ugly cried even more. And I screamed to divine providence the unfairness of it all. And I thought, I’m not going to get over this heat ache for awhile. Then we are privy to a wondrous scene after the credits. And my heart soared. Ambiguity, as much as I hate it, at least I’m allowed to interpret the ending as the two of them being together and living in bliss in the end. A love like theirs is eternal. This is an incredible love story, with imperfect human beings who love so profoundly and deeply that no one nor time nor death can break asunder. ❤️❤️❤️
