When I watched this there was no season 2 anywhere around it. So unless you're a "fan", which proves my point you wouldn't know there is a continuation to the story. Then again, I'm not interested. I've seen far many "high school/action/thrillers" that are better than this. I'll keep searching my way instead of watching the trend because of some teens stanning certain cast/manhwa and defending it.

I stand by all my replies here. The show is unnecessarily violent. All that violent was NOT reasonable or justified. The ending fulfills NOTHING. It failed to deliver ANY message too.

The high rating doesn't make any sense except if more people these days are growing crazily violent in their heads and find this acceptable, or that they're simply voting up for their favorite actors. I would prefer the second to be the the right one because I want to believe in humanity.

He's a veteran actor. There is no reason for him to pick up a 2-years-on-hold project that has dropped in quality and budget and many people gave up on.
Yes, he did it a favor giving his fame and skill to revive it.
Imagine his role being taken by any other actor and see how big of a fail the show would've been,

he's been playing second lead who loses the girl multiple times. I think his fans, including me, should be used to it by now.

I understand you. But honestly, if this was bad for you, stay far away from kdrama with violent plots that's been on netflex. like Mask Girl and weak hero class 1 etc.
There are so many gruesome kdramas lately and people are loving it so it might continue...

LJK is a better swordman actor than SJG which is needed in this series as already teased in the first season. He fits the role just right.
Tanya's character development suits SSK better too, even though I was sad about KJW not acting the role.

I wish I rewatched 1st season. It was gold anyway. I forgot a lot of names and characters T-T

I understand the cast change because it's unavoidable when actors don't want to finish what they started. I am ok with it because the story was bigger than just a good cast. This story deserves to be told even with a cast change.
But I wish the production was on bar with the first. The drop of production quality is well noticed. It is a shame that you get someone like Lee Junki and not give him top-notch quality as the first season got. Also, I don't like the change in Nunbyeol and Tanya's characters. Saya confused the hell out of me but it's ok, Saya has always been confusing because he's confused himself. But overall, I'm happy this sees the light, FINALLY.
A bit worried that it has an open ending. I am kinda tired of all the wait. I hope if there is something to come that it comes fast.

I also think Arthdal fans should be thankful LJK picked up this work. He is a big and great actor who doesn't need to pick up an unfinished work of someone else.
He did us a favor to finish off the story with the strength it needs.

It is unique quality alright, I've rarely seen a korean show as brutal and violent. I only wished that all that violence had a better reasoning and ending. Which I feel this drama failed to convince me with.

I did watch it. and if you see my op you'll find why I think it does not deserve high ratings. All that you listed are good yeah, but put them out together without a purpose? they will mean nothing. That's the case here.

Oh I can criticize the high rating too. I am not attacking anyone personally in my opinion. After all, there will be someone reading my comment and feeling the same as me. It might help them decide if it's worth watching or not. I wish I had that.

Usually a scandal like that spread over the internet and social media like fire. We've seen it in other dramas. It can not happen in this one for some reason.

ah, I should've checked the cast before I watched.
Nothing against idols, some of them are good at acting and others do work on good shows.
I watch my bias and probably overate their dramas, so I am guilty too. Usually it gets balanced out so I don't pay much attention to that.

But because I'm aware of my own guilt I am able to tell if the ratings are inflated by the fanbase or not. This time I did not check the cast and got baited hard.

I hope the ratings get balanced eventually for people who do not care about idols and like to watch a good show.

Everyone is allowed to say their opinion on a show. I said mine. If you didn't like it you should ignore it and move on.

It was a fun and interesting drama. But I think it had way too many golden spoons =)

I was waiting for something worth my time to happen because it has so high rating. But nope. The author couldn't even make the kid share the video he had and destroy the villain's life.
Pretty sure half the ratings goes for the cast not even for story.
