The only fault in this drama in my opinion is the meeting between JiYoon and SaimDang to plan the escape of Lee Gyeom. I think it would've been better to make people from the past plan that. It wouldn't be hard or impossible. He was a wanderer after all.
Things that slightly annoyed me too, the use of reincarnation. I was not satisfaied how the characters were reincarnated.. 1. SaimDang and Lee Gyeom reincarnation: Couldn't the writer be a little merciful of the two harshly separated souls and bring them back as a couple in this life? Lee Gyeom couldv'e reincarnated as JiYoon's husband and the story goes on just fine. She loved her husband and he loved her. So why not? 2. There were two reincarnations of Lee Gyeom at the same time? I wished they never showed the head of Rade. He was totally out of place and useless to the story in many ways. He was not even that romantic for watching over JiYoon. I find her junior SangHyun a better reincarnation of Lee Gyeom. As he was helping her and stood by her side until the end. 3. At their last meeting, SaimDang and WhieumDang, one of them wished to be reborn as friedns. I wish this happened.. It would make the story more beautiful...
Pity but overall the story is really good and intriguing.
I don't understand the rating being less than 9 at least...
Edit: So I finally finished this drama. I stand by my words. It shouldn't get less than 9. I love how the writer was creative joining pieces of history from a painting to Saimdang the artist to papermaking to paintings from the west to finally create a beautiful fiction like this one. Very admirable. The drama kept me busy searching for facts and history of art which I was never interested in. This makes it a good drama for me.

If you're looking for a good saeguk drama, good story, well done plot and good cast. This is a good drama for you.
