He never told Lian about his major, being Kirin, making music, interest in sports cars and his motorbike. Sure…
We all were robbed, BPG 😰

We all were 😢

Not if one of the Hias is doing the dicking.

It would take 10 years out of my life, provided they even let me go to have life 😣

Wohooo! He could have celebrated with Diao 💛

Everyone in this series is an antagonist imo. Maybe except Nuer, and even that's because they apparently forgot…
I would bet the second one, though Nuer is indeed so damn pretty 😁

LOL I will forgive you for not mentioning DunBas. But I'm watching you. So be very careful.
I admire your dedication to this 💙

My thought was that Star Hunter Entertainment just decided to put out a quick buck.

Ooh, drama! So I take it La Cuisine is better directed than Gen Y 2?

You're surely gonna watch the new BL they'll be in (something with 'cat' in a title) then, right? 😀

I only saw them together in gen Y, and while I liked either of their characters separately, I didn't enjoy them together (though I blame the plot for that).

I'm confident enough to say I would have liked him way less if I didn't find him attractive and he had nothing to do with music. I'm sometimes shallow like that 💜

Don't worry, I was already spoiled that part beforehand!! I've started TMoTB some time ago (I'm on episode 4 rn I think). So far, I like it, though the episodes are so long it's taking me forever to get through. I avoid MDL pages for content I'm not caught up with either way, but since some of us watch the same dramas, there's quite a bit of overlap with CP and KP audience (hence the potential for spoilers).

BPG spoiled me a different drama on here, so I'm just teasing them about it 💙

I'm somewhere between you and BPG on this. I despise normalized or romanticized toxicity. I'm fine with a realistic portrayals of toxicity, though, and usually don't need a redemption or even atonement for them. Karma is always welcomed, though. For example, (SPOILERS FOR THARNTYPE S1) I LOVED Lhong in TT. But I hated that they gave him a redemption arc (a bad one, to boot).

"The toxic behaviors of some Cutie Pie's characters were made to seem cute and romantic at times. It's the romanticizing of toxicity that I don't like. "

Replace the "some" with "all, except for Ton the engineer", and I will wholeheartedly agree with the statement.

I sinked my #DiaoKuea (#KueaDiao #JellyGang) ship after they started sacrificing each other for Hias. Diao asking Kuea whether he feels guilty in the latest episode was just the final straw. But unlike with Hias, I can support their redemption arc 💚

Title Cutie Pie Spoiler
One of the reasons why people criticize/hate this series is because of toxic characters & relationship. But why…
I try to call it out every time it makes me uncomfortable in relation to the way it's portrayed. Fo example, (KP SPOILERS for episode 4) I made a long-ass comment about the romanticized rape in KP. It's almost surely drowned in the amount of comments on the discussion page, but you can ctrl+F my username if you are interested. I also just finished writing one for SCOY. I mentioned the slightly toxic development in Star in My Mind during the latest episode release.

I tend to consider these things based on the kind of show they are in, how they are handled and my personal attachment to it (how it makes me feel). In Cutie Pie, all of those things perfectly aligned into something I can barely look at, but still feel obliged to work through it and sum up my impressions of it. [Also, toxicity isn't the only problem of CP. There're more of them, amplifying each other.]

But ultimately, it doesn't matter if other shows do it and how they do it. Just because it's tolerated somewhere, doesn't mean it should be tolerated here. The show is responsible for itself.

I hope you are right. Way better ending than cliffhanger followed by second season announcement.
So, more chaotic and less lethal. Doesn't sound any better to be honest.

Title Secret Crush on You Spoiler
[About Toh's hunting and gathering tendencies]

Let's start with the "stalker" side of things. This one doesn't bother me as much, to be honest. We never see Toh actually trailing Nuea, following them home/outside of school, not trying to insert himself into Nuea's life by "accident" or control what Nuea does (and with whom). He doesn't get possessive over Nuea to the level he would hurt someone. It's true that Toh was looking for chances to watch Nuea from afar (e.g. going to their cafeteria), but he never intentionally interacted with Nuea during that time. Is it cringey? Yes. Uncomfortable? Detto. But it's also fairly realistic and (for me), acceptable in the context the show puts it into. Toh's keeping his distance and letting Nuea live his life. The biggest problem I see with it is the amount of photos Toh makes and souvenirs he takes. Which leads us to our second point.

Toh's hoarding habits. The notion of collecting keepsakes to remember things by is something I do from time to time, and consider it safe in moderation. Toh does not operate in moderation. I can see why he would keep photos (especially since it's his hobby), but so much? Making a shrine out of them?! That's an unhealthy obsession. Collecting slips of paper and small things some might consider trash is fine in my opinion, but actual trash? Nope. That soda can crossed the line. The paint can is peculiar, to say the least, but it's one of the better ones. Food and drinks of any kind are a big no-no for me. It spills, smells, gets rotten, attracts ants... even if it's sealed. There's an enormous amount of it and it keeps growing.

Things the show did well in this regard is shoving it in such a big scope no one should think it's standard. Especially with the pig's head. It's also shown Toh has little to no rational control over it (e.g. wanting to go back to the waterfall to collect water, or wanting to count one date as multiple just to get more out of it). We also get a really good explanation for why Toh does it, which shows us it's fixable for him (I think that usually, reasons for hoarding aren't that clear irl). But the show also did a lot wrong with it.

Firstly, even if Toh's friends seem to discourage him from taking those things, they make fun of it, help him with it and even egg him on. They also haven't intervened in any meaningful way so far. Secondly, I believe the show's taking it too lightly. They compare it to Jao's much smaller, manageable collection as if they were essentially the same. They made Nuea act like it doesn't matter. He even called it trivial. I'm glad he's able to love Toh despite it, but the way the whole thing's portrayed doesn't sit well with me. Also, during the confession scene, they diverted attention away from Toh's problem towards Nuea's insecurities, mudding things even further. Last thing they did horribly (imo) is letting Nuea ask Toh: "Can we throw them away?" and the scene moving past it without any apparent hiccups. If you did that to a real person, I would expect a lot more irrational defense and some level of aggression or mental breakdown. Toh basically explained it away as if it's nothing.

What I wish they would have done back then? They should have admitted Toh has a problem. Either let Nuea distance from Toh in a way that would make Toh start addressing it accordingly, or let Nuea help Toh get through it. They should have consulted a physician. Because in the stage Toh is at, no amount of friendly communication or arbitrary rules would help.

In the end, SCOY is a show I don't like to analyze/judge because of its OTT and cringey theme which makes me give them a pass for things I would otherwise take more seriously. I don't think most people would take either of those issues seriously in such context. But it's still something I want to point out, especially since the show's trying to become more serious and it's being portrayed in less melodramatic vibe.
