"I don't believe he got "lost".I would have this feeling, too.But how could Wang know where In lives ?
It's the reason why I'm looking forward to this! There are just so many angles that can explode in their faces π
As for the mother, I'm enjoying her character. She's obviously clingy towards her son, her love relationships are difficult, her work is taxing, but also really important to her... there must be a lot of baggage to unpack in her, and I hope they get to at least half it.

The mom says he's a famous architect (might have been an overstatement/joke), so google could have his address. He was also a professor, so there's a chance he found him by that?
I believe if Wang's mom told him In's full name, it would be possible to find out. Especially since thai names are pretty unique with those long-ass surnames.
I don't care for geography enough to dig this whole lines symbolism.
The boy has been spoiled rotten.
So, on a scale from 95 to 100 percent, how confident are we there was some homoerotic pining between ML's father and the friend from photograph?
I'd kill someone for that car, respectfully πΆ
It is a bit homophobic. Or just very weird. Depends on how Elsa's taking it.
*Le gasp* So she booked TWO electricians for one day?! How wasteful!! #ChampagnePrivilege
"And you're going to leave me?" π¬π¬π¬
This brat...
It's getting weird. Also, In met Wang when he was a kid. Weng is turning 20. So how could it be 20 years since In and Wang's mother saw each other last? Am I missing something?
"Like you, In." π
Oh. I don't like what this is implying. But we shall see π
Harsh critic? I find a lot of things about this original. The gay uncle, the mother struggling accepting her gay…
"What is unique about the hetero romancr here is that it is an integr part of the story. That means without it, the bl story doesnt make sense. It has nothing to do with screen time."
Can you please elaborate on how the main BL copule wouldn't make sense without the side hetero couple?

I'm still giving this a chance (that's why I'm not quitting yet). I'm just not feeling it so far.
As for the hetero romance, I can't really see how it's integral to the overal story. There are hetero couples that are more sidelined in BLs (SCOY being the one that comes to mind first), but there are also enough of those that give the hetero couple more screentime and significance (I just finished Nitiman, so there's that. Together With Me is an easy example of heterosexual couple getting about as much time as other side couples (not the first one, but in sequel(s))).
I do agree that Mook is not your typical female rival. Because she isn't really a rival, at all. She's like a support female character for Q. Together with me had two of those, for example (though Yihwa got a bf in the end, I think). SCOY had one. Basically a lot of BLs include some, though they appear less antagonistic on a surface.
The mother thing just came out of blue and lasted for about a minute. If they decide to expand on it in a more interesting way, I might enjoy it more. Though the way they introduced it makes me think it's not going to be a major plot point. And I still don't think it's unique. BLs like He's Coming To Me, TMoTB, LBC, Lovely Writer, Something In My Room, lately a Love Mechanics... plenty of them have parents that aren't exactly homophobic, but are worried for their child being in a same-sex relationship. I might be getting my BLs mixed up, since it's so predominant. But it's certainly out there.
To me, this just feels... uninspired. I can't really explain it well. The plot feels like they took a multiple other BLs, put it into mixer, added coloring, and glued together whatever came out of it after few minutes. For a "based on true story" drama, it feels plenty fabricated. The plot just doesn't excite me. Which means, the characters must win me over in order for me to enjoy it, something that hasn't happened (yet). Maybe it's because there are just so many school BLs pushed out each time of a year. I think of it the same way as I do of My Secret Love, and that one has been on hold for me since episode one.

"Harsh critic? "
Not really. More emotionally-driven. When I give a criticism, I tend to base it on facts from the show.
The gay uncle is one of the few things I like about this show! But he's hardly there for a few minutes.
"The mother struggling accepting her gay son" is hardly original, nor it had any standing on the plot so far or believable setup (it's like a minute of a side conversation). One or both of the parents having problems with their son dating a guy is one of the most used conflicts in BL, right after "miscommunication". But she doesn't know. She literally says : "Do you think what I'm scared of will actually happen?" They didn't elaborate further, since it was just a minute long conversation. There's also zero indication from my pov that Q actually shows interest in X in front of her, which just makes it all the more weird and unrealistic (so far, it's mostly her and Man pushing Q towards X). I assume she's basing her fears purely on how aggressive X is in pursuing Q.
I also couldn't care less about the hetero couple, should they become one. Also, token hetero couple in BL is nothing new, the straight age gap might be somewhat original in BLs, though (I can think of any on top of my head where it would be so evident)!
As for Vice Versa, I gave up on it after 4 episodes. That's why this one gets probably two more chances. It's only meant to last 8 episodes apparently, so by then I should know whether I want to continue it or not.
I don't like this. I don't know why, I just find this...lame? Stupid? Unrealistic? Unoriginal?
I'm watching this and it's giving me nothing. No feelings, no humor, no surprise. It gets 2 more episodes to change my mind. Otherwise, next to Vice Versa it goes.
