Ok, back to Amagi, since it's my biggest beef with the show right now. I'm grateful for his inner monologue, because his behaviour is just majorly confusing me. I guess he's naturally awkward, and nervous, and a bit introverted, but he's nice to everyone and he's trying to be sociable? His characterization is all over the place for me. And since we're being honest, the visuals aren't doing much better job. It might be the actor, or the directing, or just my own shallow prejudice, but I can't really wrap my head around what kind of character "Amagi" is. Except the heartbreaking parts. The first story (the one that's releasing right now) is focused on shipping and how problematic it can get for the actors mainly, but even management and fans, while the next story (starring the second pairing of mafia baby 2 - Bew's in it 🤍) is focused more on how the drama between managers tears him and his partner apart. They aren't exactly an established couple in the first story (at least not yet). I suggest you watch the 2-minute trailers for each story if you want to have a better idea what they're trying to portray. I don't think it's necessarily bad that we're yet again getting a weak uke. One that gets bedridden because he's been outside for too long, in less than ideal circumstances. Same with the whininess, the clinginess, the social awkwardness... it's overdone in BLs and it should be toned down as a whole. But it doesn't need to disappear entirely imo. In this specific case, I think it fits. It's nearly believable to me. Almost relatable. It's still showing an idealized world, but one that's giving me a feeling of deja vu quite often. It's also pretty well done in my opinion. So I'll stick with it, and I'll probably enjoy it 💚
