This is surprisingly good! Aside from going back to straight-by-default MC and being another time-travel drama, I like how simple it is so far. Simple is safe. Simple is sweet. You can't ruin simple unless you try really, really hard. Hope this stays simple till the end, in the nicest way possible π
I mostly liked the first episode. Grown-up couple more so than the school one, but both are moving...somewhere. Hopefully somewhere at least a little unique.
Anyways. You either make a story that's genuinely good, or so ridiculous it doesn't have to be good. This one isn't either, yet. But I'll give it few more episodes and hope it won't join Step by Step and La Pluie in being utterly mediocre.
I really tried with episode 5. I did. But what for?
I like the base premise and the ghostship scenes, but they managed to sink both of them by now. So what's left? Awkward humor. Too much explaining. "They hate each other but they'll like each other" arc. "Look, I'm hot and rich" scenes. Angst talking.
There are ways to make it better, but I'll doubt they'd ever go there. And what little left I enjoy isn't worth the time investment. So this one also goes "On Hold", which is just a transfer station before "Dropped" π
For one, most of episode 12 was just plain boring. Tell, tell, a little bit of show and more tell. I might be dummy at times, but no one is this stupid.
And then there is the last 15 minutes. I must say, I mostly liked it. Primarily for the courage they had, to make something they must have known would be unpopular. But I feel like they went too far in the last minute or so. [I also hate the "spinning" trick with burning passion]. It felt somehow cheap, the way they tried to make things look simple. Still, B+ for an actual (surprising) effort put into it.
Watching episode 10 was so not worth it. It was weird, and annoying, and unsatisfying and cheap. They managed to squeeze at least 2 episode 11 curses into that bad boy. The ending... I'm not gonna waste my words. Episodes 1-9 were roughly 7.5/10 on average, episode 10 was weak 5. I'll give it 7/10 as a whole, with a big asterisk that it is a bumpy ride without nice enough scenery to be worth the potholes.
This was pretty good, up until the "one year later" bullshit. Then it got pretty unsatisfying and empty. Ending picked up again, but only a little bit. Still...I'm sucker for an emotional music so it's a pass π
@Oops Im an immortal is uploading the subbed version on bilibili, their account name has similar pfp as their profile picture here on MDL. Just search for "make a wish" and it should come up near the top.
Episode 9 was very rushed. Which is exactly what happens when you get next to nowhere in previous 8 parts and relaize you have to wrap up things quickly. It could have been good, would they drop all the subplots. But why are we adding more, one episode before last? The pacing isn't pacing properly.
The cafΓ© lady is so comically evil, a bit more nuance would have gone a long way. Everyone normal would have run away from the crazy right off the bat. Just noped out. But that's the issue I have with many recent Thai BLs. They don't trust their viewers enough to be subtle. Sometimes it works if it's so overt it's funny (Past-senger was like that for me at the start), but often it's just boring and annoying (plus the long explanations...).

I'll finish this for Mahiro. Probably even give it a good score for Mahiro. But were it not for Mahiro, I would have dropped this a long time ago.

For the whole drama, I'll keep the score as it is (8/10). It's certainly too unique for me to rate it mediocre 7-7.5. Especially the early episodes were a joy to watch. Simple in its execution, but refreshing in flavour. It lost itself along the way and started collecting annoying clichΓ©s. Got a bit better, got a bit worse. I already mentioned what I think of the last episode. Overall, it's interesting more often than not π
For now, the first episode is available π
To be nice, I'll give it 7.5 and let it simmer for a while. Great setup, a bunch of flashbacks and clichΓ©s, fairly quick progression this episode. I lost all of my interest in it, since they tried to fix it too soon and whatever comes next will most likely be your standard jealousy/miscommunication/family drama. I'll keep an eye on it though, in case it still has some surprises down its sleeves π
