The time skip is a K-drama trope that REALLY needs to be retired. Especially with technology the way it is today (and, making a harsh generalization here, with people constantly using their phones), there is no excuse for this. PLUS, we've invested all this time in a show, watching the leads try to get together, and then we get short-changed in the end. A rushed ending happens way more often than a satisfying ending, sadly.

I love your phrase "very little ROM in the ROM-COM"! I might need to borrow that!! Sadly, I've run across many K-dramas that suffer from the same thing. For me, I'd prefer more ROM than COM, but unfortunately, the writers tend to let me down. Or, if they give us a romance, they add a bunch of extra stuff and then rush the ending.
