thats cuz the FL herself is annoying, she makes up for all the "annoying female characters" usually in dramas.…
the breathing and chewing sounds in this drama were excessive. it's like voice actors think we are listening to an audiobook rather than watching a show.
thanks to an iQIYI app error, I accidentally watched the last episode of this thinking it was the first episode lol. the cinematography is amazing. I'll try watching this from the beginning and see if I can still enjoy it after spoiling the ending 😜
Another one where I don't want the leads to end up as a couple. Its toxic from the get-go and doesn't get better.…
wow, you're really mischaracterizing all of that. I read this before watching and was expecting something really different based on your words, but found nothing like what you described. I kept waiting for the part where someone's kidnapped and someone's co-ercing marriage....
here's what actually happens for others interested in watching: the FL kidnapped the ML briefly when she was a child (and so was he). he was on his deathbed which is why a little girl was able to kidnap him. he wanted to die but she sparked his desire to live and he fell in love with her because of that (it's dumb but whatever). when they're older and meet again, she falls in love with him after he keeps taking care of her throughout their travels. she is crazy obsessed with saving her shifu and since finding her as an adult, ML is dedicated to helping her so she can be free of that obsession. when they finally get past their immature (but not annoying) misunderstandings, ML jokes that he won't save her shifu unless she agrees to marry him. she says yes without a pause both because she would do anything to save her shifu AND because they had literally just acknowleded they both like each other.
as someone who dislikes "Eternal Love" aka Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, I really enjoyed this condensed version of the story. Production quality is mediocre but not awful.
this is a pretty decent show. the subtitles are not great but the show is still understandable.
for the last 2 episodes, the writers decide to smash everything without a good reason. you know those sad endings where you can understand and live with it? this is not one of those. it feels arbitrary and will make you angry.
