I absolutely loved the korean version and because of that I decided to give the japanese version a shot, but I'm almost done with episode 2 and it hasn't clicked with me to be honest. It lacks that suspense and mystery feel that the korean drama pulled off so well in my opinion. I came here ready to drop this drama but then I started reading some of the comments. Some people commented it takes a different direction after episode 2, so I'm gonna continue watching. I really want this to be good and I was a little disappointed in the first 2 episodes, because it didn't really grab my attention.

This drama had so much potential, but sadly, the acting is sub par to say the least, and the writing/story telling is scattered and uneven. If they were going for quirky and cute, I feel it missed the mark. The main couple is bland, the drama around them is bland, it's so bland, not even a truck of sugar poured on top would make this romance good. It makes me sad because the whole concept around this special tree, the family successor, the potions, is really interesting. I wish they would have made it more of a thing during the drama. I kept watching in hopes it would get better. Now we're at the end and I just feel meh.

a flop. the couple, the other characters, the storyline; all a complete waste of time and effort. the only thing…
This is funny because oh soo's voice is actually one of the things that I really don't like about this drama. His voice is so monotone and expressionless sometimes, it makes everything he says seem bland.

This article^ this! All of this! What else can I even add. It has been a torture waiting for proper subs, but absolutely worth it. I'm not even half way and I already feel this drama has set the new standard for how an actual romance drama should go. Their expressions, their chemistry, it all comes so naturally, it's like you're living in this romance yourself :3

After reading some of the comments I decided to give this drama a try and omg, I have butterflies in my stomach. The main leads interactions make my heart flutter and I can't stop the feels xD I haven't felt this way watching a romance drama in a very long time . Seriously, watching them both makes me want to fall in love. This is bad, I'm being so mushy already xD

For some reason I didn't watch this drama when it first came out. I just finished it today. Omg, how did I let this one slip through o_o I enjoyed every bit :D

This was a fun article to read. I think I went through the stage of newbie rating, but I believe I went back and "fixed" some of my ratings, either because if was my first time seeing such plot device or cliche or because I just didn't understand the culture difference. At the moment I don't think it's a problem any more. I like what I like, I feel what I feel, and I rate accordingly. If my enjoyment was sustained throughout the entire drama, I will rate it high, despite whatever flaw it may have. In the end I will watch dramas because of other factors such as the cast or the theme, not the rating, because it can be so subjective, and you may end up missing something really good :)

Of these, I watched only Defendant and Remember, so I can't say anything about the other comparisons. Even though I loved Defendant way more, I can still say I enjoyed Remember. I would pick Defendant to watch, over Remember, if I really had just one choice, but Remember is also pretty good imo. :)

Just finished this drama and I found it enjoyable, although I feel something is missing. Can't quite put my finger on it.

I actually never tried watching such a long drama. Just the other day I was thinking about adding Mare to my plan to watch and was sorta reluctant about it, but then I noticed the 15 minutes per episode, mentally did the math, and decided it deserved a chance. :D

I watched Because This is My First Life and Queen of Mystery and I have to agree. They were really nice dramas. I wouldn't say my top dramas of 2017, but I would recommend them both, no doubt. I also can't wait for QoM season 2. I felt the ending wasn't very satisfying, but since they are going for a season 2, then I'm glad things ended the way they did ^_^

Circle was amazing. I loved how they pulled off the sci-fi feel, even without that much CGI or other complicated special effects. Even skipping from past to future to past, doesn't feel off putting. It advances the plot and you're even looking forward to those time jumps.
