I think the romance is actually kind of cute. It's really not as insufferable as other people say and unlike Reddit…
Yeah fair enough! I don't like seeing clips beforehand because I feel like that spoils everything. Like I said before it seems that this show only gets flak on discussion boards. Don't get me wrong it's definitely not perfect but it's not THAT insufferable as people say.
rang is my favorite character. he's so broken, but he still manages to be the most charismatic character here.…
Same! He's so cute. I have a soft spot for characters like him too since I understand where he's coming from. The world is indeed a harsh place but love does exist!!
Am I the only one that actually wanted Ki Yoo Ri and Lee Rang together instead of Ki Yoo Ri with Gu Shin Joo?
Nope. I feel like Rang needs to find himself and build himself emotionally before he can enter in a relationship as he seems to have co-dependent tendencies so it probably might not work in the long term. Although those pairings serve good visuals and I probably wouldn't be disappointed if they got together.
Tbh, I don't care much about the love story. Female lead's acting seems flat to me. What keeps me watching is…
I definitely understand both viewpoints and it may just be a generational thing since Yeon is older and has more life experience so the way that he cares is by showing tough love. This doesn't really work for Rang because he's never really had an emotionally stable base for him to have belief in himself that he is someone worthy to be around or to be loved so I think the tough love approach doesn't work well with him.
As for the point about love. I'm not really sure why that is a big deal to be honest. Most people in relationships particularly long-term relationships have their partner as their priorities; which isn't to say that their families and siblings or friends don't matter, it just fulfils a different need. Having a romance arc doesn't automatically mean that a person is weak or has no substance, which is usually a viewpoint shared by others that think that anything romantic is somehow a traitorous plot point.
I'm so happy Yeon and Rang finally got to talk it out TT all missunderstandings are solved. Time for them to team…
Yes! Major love. Also Kim Bum's eye acting is the best. Esp when he flickers his eyelashes twice! I think I've become a fan. But I wonder what will he happen since ep 9 suggests that he would have to kill Yeon due to the contract he made with the Imoogi's servant?
Ep9 was so satisfying ❤Action/ Character Development/ RomanceIt had everything
Same! I really enjoyed it too and Wookie and Bummie's visuals were amazing!!! Also loved how the ep showed how traumas affect you and how even if your fears may seem simple/easy to overcome, that they really are fears.
I think the romance is actually kind of cute. It's really not as insufferable as other people say and unlike Reddit and other drama boards, Instagram and Twitter folks seem to be enjoying the chemistry. Personally, I do think it's there but I would have liked a lot more push and pull between the two leads instead of how quickly they seem to be okay with suddenly being with each other. I think Ji Ah could have made Yeon have a harder time in winning her but it must be because she is his past love that there seems to be that instant connection.
The bruise on the little boy's cheek what could have caused it, is he being abused? or not lol just a thought.
Hmm it is possible that he may be living a parallel life and that he might be abused by his parents, if he even had any, or if he is an orphan, being abused by them as well.
What exactly does it mean that Ji Ah is going to be the imoogi's bride? Will she die/be eaten or something?
Exactly my thoughts! I wonder what it means having a bit of the Imoogi in you because Ji Ah did say that when she met the kid Imoogi in her dream that she felt that she was happy to see him. It would be cool to see Ji Ah be close to possession and have her fight Yeon.
I hope the coming eps addresses her origin story and why she was chosen to be a sacrifice. I mean there must be something about her and why she's so special - blood of an angel maybe or something within Korean folklore?
Agreed! They're really starting to turn the heroine into a 2 dimensional female lead
I totally agree. I found her a bit too clingy in the last few episodes but rationalising, she did say in a previous episode that she was afraid that if he was there all the time that she would be weak, so the distancing in the latest episode is the best move for their character development, more so, for hers. It would actually be fun to see her do things by herself without always needing his help. I do think that whilst her character was initially very tough, she did seem to be someone putting on airs of being tough and I think the developments so far followed that.
if you keep watching, you'll see he develops as a character!
Yeah thanks for the comment! I actually did finish this (albeit I read recaps up until episode 14 when I started watching it again) and enjoyed the last few episodes and the ending!
