Title Tale of the Nine-Tailed Spoiler
Lmao lol at the part where Rang used Soo Hoo's transformers toy to shake hands with Jia. He must've been so traumatised by the fox deal that he could no longer shake hands hahaha. Just thought this was funny! Also the first 30 seconds of Ep 15 felt like a movie to me. I hope Ep 16/Finale will be as great.

Honestly, I don't have high enough hopes for the writer's to pull off any twists at this point
Check out the predictions that I posted above.

https://mindmeltonabun-blog.tumblr.com/post/636003651958308864/tale-of-the-nine-tailed-eps-15-16-predictions (not my blog lol, but this poster has been almost accurate in their predictions)

So summarised as best I can:

* The Imoogi will go get Sato's Moon Mirror by killing him.
* Imoogi will go to the Office of the Afterlife, in which Taluipa realises that the Imoogi has been inhabiting her son, Bok Gil's body. Out of anger, Taluipa will try to turn the Imoogi into stone but the Imoogi, possessing the Moon Mirror will use this to deflect it, turning Taluipa into stone.
* Imoogi/Terry will then change Ji Ah's death date to ensure that she's still alive.
* Lee Yeon goes back to the apartment unaware of the previous events and gets attacked by the Snail Bride, Shin Ju and Lee Rang.

* Final Showdown at the Office of the Afterlife with Ji Ah and the Imoogi. Ji Ah retains her consciousness and tries to kill herself but is stopped by either the Imoogi regaining its consciousness or Terry doing something to prevent Ji Ah killing herself.
* Lee Rang wakes up and heads to the Office of the Afterlife where he sees Yuri standing guard. He is faced with the dilemma - save his brother or save Yuri?
* Lee Yeon will stick to the original plan and swallow the snake scale, taking Ji Ah's Imoogi spirit into his body. Lee Rang arrives at that very moment and probably won't be able to kill his brother. Lee Yeon regains consciousness and goes to the River Styx.
* Ji Ah survives and chases Lee Yeon to the River Styx, paralleling the beginning of their love story.
* This has actually been a ploy by King Yeomra (blind dude with glasses who was the fortune teller in the mid-episodes) in finding his own replacement.
* Yeon becomes the new King Hades whilst Ji Ah takes over Taluipa's position.
* Everyone lives happily ever after.

100% this ^^^ I agree, I think the way they made the leads fall for each other in literally a click of the fingers…
The first 3 eps weren't the eps that had the most impact for me, tbh but they did set the tone of the series for what seemed like a more action packed drama. In saying that, there have also been the bits in the middle that I did enjoy and while I still am enjoying the drama I do think that there could have been genuine ways to make it better. I agreed with you before that these boards had the most criticism during the earliest part of the show and whilst I didn't really think most of them were valid, come to this point of the show, the weakness of the drama is apparent. You can still enjoy a drama with its faults, sure but it's also important to voice out criticisms despite international fan support.

True. I'm not saying that writers have to satisfy everyone. This drama and the pairing have positive comments on the TVN social media accounts so it's not wrong to say that a lot of people are enjoying this. In saying that, I do wish that the strength of the first three episodes continued on and that the story didn't weaken after finding the fox bead. There was a lot of room to play with a lot more korean folklore characters but apart from pepperings of characters here and there with very minimal appearances, mostly for side discussions and the like, they remained underutilised.

I think what weakened the "find the love of my life and live happily ever after" plot is the fact that it no longer became believable, and the loss of other people's lives and the potential room for the sacrifice of side characters so that the leads can get their happy ending just becomes a bit self-serving. With the two remaining episodes, I hope that they are able to resolve this but I really doubt that. It would be more powerful had there been a stronger storytelling during the middle of the series so that in the event that Rang has to sacrifice himself, that it becomes noble redemption, and not a waste of a character all for the resolution of the main leads' love story.

I agree. I mean I also expected more fantasy elements and at least more than one appearance of Yeon's nine tails because aside from that, the characters really seem to be just humans with human appearances who have some powers.

I definitely agree with the whole "protect Ji Ah" thing. At the start, it was noble and for me the love story was believable but after finding the fox bead, I found that the romance stalled and quickly became cheese.

I'm still enjoying it for the visuals, mainly but I really wished that they had kept with the strong use of OST (where did the rock anthem go after a few eps?), delayed the romance and built more tension between the two leads, as well as the brothers' reconciliation.

Watching this right now and it feels as if they're just mashing different genres together. The crime part of the storyline doesn't really fit the slapstick tone that was set in the first episode. It feels like I'm watching two dramas every time it switches to the serial killer part.

I'd have to agree too. I did like the edginess of the first few episodes and how action packed it was but the romance could have been better crafted with a tighter storyline. Rang could have been evil a lot longer. Yeon could have been slaying a few more foxes before the romance part entered the story. Now it has literally become fan service that hangs only on what's left of the real backbone of the story that is the love story between a fox and a human that was interrupted by an outside force, the Imoogi. There could have been stronger worldbuilding and less cheesy scenes (they were alright at the start but the more you watch, the more you realise how formulaic it has become).

I think you were expecting more, but the bed scene was a good one given the fact we dont get that many in kdramaworld…
Haha not at all. I was actually surprised it was that long for a k-drama but still they cut/fade to the next scene happened when it was getting to the good part ahaha.

according to kdrama standards that was a pretty long kissing scene... i can only remember whats wrong with secretary…
Ah really? I must be used to Western tv lol. But yeah love that it wasn't just a peck with mouths closed haha.

Can't move on from this drama - I don't think I can listen to the music. It reminds me of bittersweet everythings. Sigh, what a journey though. It's been a tough road. Here's to wishing that anyone in love has the courage and strength to pursue it even if it might be against all odds.

Last 4eps so long time waiting àaahhh.
I know! I'm missing it already. The spacing between the episodes makes me feel like I should be ready to say goodbye soon but it feels like 4 eps won't be enough to alleviate this separation anxiety hahaha.

Watching it on Netflix, it's so frustrating when they translate oppa as brother. Every. Single. Time. *facepalm*…
Lol i know. It feels a bit incestuous or something. They should translate it as honey or sweetheart or something.

Finally starting this drama after the hype. Really enjoying the leads' chemistry but super hate Ri's designated…
So annoyed. This is why second leads are so annoying. Love is not about possession and who has first dibs or who met whom first! You also don't need to spend the longest time with someone before you can love them. Second leads act like spending 10 years together or meeting when they're children is a given that you have more of a right to someone that a new person does.

Also to that fiancée girl and pretty much all the characters like her that annoy me to death: You deserve to be heartbroken. Stop forcing people to love you and using your connections to manipulate people because you're a spoiled brat.

EDIT: I was very harsh with So Dan and in the end I found that she redeemed herself in my eyes as she was able to allow herself to fall in love with someone who was less than ideal and break her tendency of loving people as ideals instead of themselves. Although I still was not enamoured by her by the end, I did feel that she deserved a better ending with the con man whom she loved and I was anticipating that she'd meet his doppelganger or something. Still, if these two were given their own drama, I would probably watch it.

Finally starting this drama after the hype. Really enjoying the leads' chemistry but super hate Ri's designated fiancée. She's manipulative af, spoilt and although she may be considered well-mannered and high class, she has no heart. Hate characters who treat love like a checklist...

so when someone reach 30, they should forget about their parents and move on?her parents disappeared under unusual…
It's based on the Princess Bari myth so the essence of finding her parents is a plot device. The Princess Bari story is also about filial piety so that explains why she has to keep looking for her parents.

I don't like romance dramas AT ALL. Could someone tell me how heavy the romance in this drama is? I don't want…
You probably won't like this then. Whilst I think the romance doesn't happen instantly, it is the major driving force of this drama. And if you have the same taste as other commenters, you will probably find this cliche. In saying that, personally, I am liking it.
