Everything about Gu is heavily romanticized in the drama, so unfortunately we don't get to see realistic portrayal…
Too true - drinking that much is gotta impair his body a lot. Ofc this is a drama, but by the end he did end up having jitters so it was getting to that point where it was starting to really affect him.

Do you think Han Su Jin genuinely liked Mi Jeong especially since she seemed to always be the one trying to include her in the group get togethers, or do you think this was because Mi Jeong was very observant and she needed to pull the guilt card on her for finding out that she was their boss' mistress?

Ooh it sounds interesting. On a scale of 1-10 how depressing is it?

Not true at all! It shows life is far from easy... but it's very hopefull. Made me feel good!
Yeah it was hopeful. I thought initially that they were going to go darker with the themes/plot but I'm happy with the story being more about self-determination/reflection instead of a social commentary on distance and poverty.

I find myself agreeing more and more with the 6-8/10 reviews in here.Like someone wrote the drama is kind of weird.…
I agree with you a lot here. I thought that Gu's alcoholism, whilst very clearly an issue, was not quite believable given the reason for why he drinks. The story could have presented him with more of a challenge to resolve because there was hardly any conflict between him and his values and his role in the club (although clearly his daily nightmares are a sign that he feels conflict about what he does), and some challenge from the Chairman. In the end, his view wasn't really challenged, he was always safe and it didn't really feel like he had anything to resolve nor did his issues really made it believable that he would have alcoholism. (I'm not saying that you have to have a massive issue to be an alcoholic but it just wasn't believable why he was drinking so much given that he didn't really have much to resolve re his values).

I feel like I just needed a little bit more of a tie in closure scene with Chang Hee meeting Gu and Gu and Mi Jeong being together. I know the open ending is meant to be symbolic with the working hard to be liberated version of yourself and that in the right time they would have met again but it just felt a little bit unfulfilling for me like it cut short just a little and there were still some unresolved things that weren't really discussed.

I liked that the first half was very very light hearted and focussed on issues in a way that didn't shove it in your face but I found the last three episodes to actually be the perfect pace in terms of wrapping up the themes of the show. I thought it flowed quite well and explained Du Sik's negative connotation with money given that he felt responsible for the deaths that weren't even his fault.

Hmm not feeling the interview format - it feels like it stops and starts the storyline and it feels a bit harder to get into the story. Does it getter? What do you think? I really want to finish this but it feels a lot like a chore.

Totes see where you're coming from with that. It does seem a bit unfair but I guess in that way it allows for a fresh start for both DB and JR. It parallels reality a lot tho with some kids being a lot closer to their stepparentss because their biological parents already have new families. Such a difficult thing to decide tho - do you still have an obligation to tell your partner that he's the father even when the relationship is crumbling? I don't know - difficult to say and there are no right answers.

Title When the Camellia Blooms Spoiler
In my opinion, Kang Jong Ryul is a wronged character. I don't know if I missed anything, but it looks like Dongbaek…
While I agree with some points, everything was going against their relationship. He clearly wasn't ready yet to be a father and she didn't want to burden him and dash his dreams for success. She had a poor reputation given her background and she wasn't a background match for him. During the flashbacks where you can tell that he was getting more successful, you can see the distance between them and it wouldn't have been a guarantee that he would have been an active or a ready father for their child given that he was also immature and only focussed on his success and meeting those success metrics. While he clearly loved Dongbaek, he wasn't strong enough to fight for her and it was only during his relationship with Jessica that he could finally stand up for something instead of hiding behind reasons like publicity, his image, his mother etc. His financial support was the least he could do - even when he had his child at home, he didn't even prepare food or made sure he got a real lunch. He was completely lacking imo.
