I kind of like that their interactions aren't forcibly romantic (or that the plot was pushed to go in that direction/reveal it asap) since instead it instead focuses on their bond as people in general foremost.
I'm really enjoying the drama so far through ep18 and the direction it's taking! The past few episodes have been a bit more laidback, though the plot is still advancing, and I love the breather we're getting alongside casual interactions between all characters. Also I so admire the ML for not acting on his feelings and still genuinely treating her like an older brother would 🥺
Usually with ongoing ones, my interest tapers off about 10 episodes in, but even now I just adore this series.

There's one currently airing called Rise of Ning - it reminds me a lot of this one (my favorite). I think you will love it - the leads and their communication and teamwork is amazing. There's less martial arts, but the fight scenes and direction are done very well! :)

I'm 11 eps in and really love it. For context: my favorites aren't revolutionary/epic like The Rise of Phoenixes, but cozy/wholesome with a pinch of family, action, and happy endings like Who Rules the World or New Life Begins. This is exactly that - it's a surprisingly nice and light watch and hits ALL the right notes for me.
I absolutely adore the way the series has handled establishing the leads' relationship and dynamic. There are so many ways it could go wrong, but they're doing it right so far!
Rather than forcing the leads' scenes together to be conveyed as strictly platonic, familial, or romantic (there are some dramas that approach it like this ex. friends/enemies-to-lovers, and when they finally "pivot"/realize their feelings, there's an awful disconnect), they instead chose to highlight the natural progression of a human relationship - they move from a level of apprehension, into curiosity, and slowly into mutual trust and care. These are universal emotions we can have toward anyone, irregardless of label. It literally is chef's kiss 🥹

No problem! I really love FL's character so far. She's very dainty and at the same time, very shrewd/cunning and I think the actress pulls it off very well bc I feel like it's hard to balance both w/o coming off as offputting. Definitely fits her role!
She tests ML the first few times to find out his motives/to see if she can trust him. The first few eps of them is transactional/mutual aid-esque where her pavilion helps his, and vice versa, and ngl I thought that was a great start to see how their relationship is established without romantic undertones, but still a sense of warmth and respect. The leads nailed it!
Idk I started watching last night and now I'm on ep 9. It was hook, line and sinker for me once I got to the end of ep1 but YMMV 😂
