This drama is so much fun especially Shen Yue is so cute but the male lead seems a bit too stupid It's starting…
Yes!! That's actually how all of the characters will be (aside from Shen Yue's character who's probably the most normal)
The manga is a 4-panel comic so it's goes thru various scenarios in their daily life that are dumb and fun. Turn your brain entirely off and lower your expectations to the floor, the bar cannot be any lower π₯²
There's only a loose plot also, it's mainly slice of life
I'm currently watching Les Belles and love it! It's extended Kang Ning/Chai An energy haha. There's also Follow…
I think you will enjoy them βΊοΈ Les Belles has Zhao Qing (who is the maid that wears green in Perfect Match). I'm so happy to see her get a romance line in it.
I hate the second daughter storyline. Like, DYX just came out of prison and I just hate him :D I feel like he…
Honestly same, it was my least fav plot and I almost dropped it but I'm glad I stuck around to watch the rest (I just fastforwarded some of the 2nd story). The 3rd one makes up for it!
I loved this drama soooo much i cant explain in words. when I finished it it left a void in my heart such good…
I'm currently watching Les Belles and love it! It's extended Kang Ning/Chai An energy haha.
There's also Follow Your Heart which is unexpectedly wholesome and cute where the leads are stuck together like glue even before they get together romantically (the guy literally drops by every day to talk to her omg)
Both have multiple couples, and the plots are less stressful than Perfect Match (surprising!!). The former is more polished and the latter is unique in the dynamics I think.
This is my first time watching a drama w/ Luo Yun Xi and I thought bc he was dressed in black + looks naturally mean, he'd be smug or give FL a hard time. But he's literally the nicest/sweetest ML I've watched in the past 5 dramas π₯Ί
Also he talks a lot without being an extroverted character (they gave him so much dialogue?!). I'm really liking it so far.
how is the screentime for all couples? also luyuxiao and wang xingyue
Someone posted an exact breakdown in the comments of the minutes but it'll take a bit of scrolling! I took my time watching it and think it's fairly balanced between all couples. Any that fell short in minutes was made up with cute moments :)
I made it to ep 32 after dragging out watching the eps for weeks because I love it so much, and now I'm not ready…
I finished! I wish there was more, I'm going to miss them so much. Super rewatchable so I expect to do so again when I don't feel like adventuring into any new historical cdramas π Of the awful things to happen in 2025, this is honestly one of the few things to bless it for me.
I made it to ep 32 after dragging out watching the eps for weeks because I love it so much, and now I'm not ready…
I also had read the comments about the last story/youngest beating ppl up and was slightly concerned, but in the context of her personality and the tone of the entire story, it felt very natural when we finally got there. My bf joined in to watch and laughed (but we're also silly and tend to watch lighthearted things) ππ I love her+her husband's push and pull dynamic and it feels fair/nuanced for both sides
I made it to ep 32 after dragging out watching the eps for weeks because I love it so much, and now I'm not ready to let it go. It's such a special drama. (Also I can't even begin to imagine the logistics organizing the schedules and cameos for this during filming)
I loved the 1st couple and was so sad their arc ended, but the 3rd and 4th got even better and I was glued to the screen!! And the sisters+their SO's presence in each of the succeeding stories makes it appear as though they never left for a moment π₯Ί Unexpectedly became my comfort drama of all time
I gritted my teeth through the first arc due to Tang Qi in the first 7 eps, but the rest is super fun, and by…
Marked as spoiler bc if you're scrolling to decide to watch it or not, skip this and ANY analysis entirely (*until you're done). It's actually a very simple and wholesome drama, just go in and turn your brain off and you may or may not come out the other end yapping like I'm about to--
I'm so glad I stuck around to see my expectations be subverted for good. I couldn't stand Tang Qi and then there was a point in the drama where I was like, wait... could it be?? A multi-faceted character?!
It's been a very long time since I've seen one π₯² They nailed it in such a lighthearted drama.
He is SO great. The first 7 eps are over-the-top persistence that's purposely intended to take viewers through the obsessive young love phase. He had shut romance down entirely until that point, so he's a late bloomer ππΏπͺ¦ Any innocent antics that our female lead did in her middle school flashbacks are mirrored for him, unfortunately, in adulthood as he relentlessly pursues her first persona.
He dialed it back entirely after that arc, from super obsessive back to his calm, slightly passive self. Character consistency? Where is it?
Right. There. The most humanlike consistency I've ever seen, 100% real. The exact same way we've all acted in our school days and came out like it never happened.
I've never seen this sort of development(?) with a male lead, especially from the perspective the audience follows--which mainly is focused on Chengcheng. There's so much to be appreciated here alongside the multitude of attention they've poured into him, right down to his pale lips/"frail" makeup, and his awkward vneck-suit ensembles (which are casually a part of his wardrobe rotation, contrasting his milder fashion choices). They could've taken the easy route and they didn't - and knocked it out of the park.
The guy is tone-deaf and clueless at times yet completely attuned at others. He's timid, sensitive, embrazened and decisive - each one waxes and wanes like, you know, a real human being. Tan Jian Ci did an incredible job bringing him to life. I've actually only seen the actor in 3 eps of Go East and he had a huge knack for silliness which I loved, I absolutely did not expect his range here!
I'm going to cut it short here before I start on Chengcheng, her multiple personas and her instantaneously resorting to killing them off each time (I love her) π₯²π
I gritted my teeth through the first arc due to Tang Qi in the first 7 eps, but the rest is super fun, and by episode 23 I was confident enough to say this may be my favorite modern cdrama.
It's SUCH a light and enjoyable watch the rest of the way, and so very wholesome. The pacing is perfect, never a dull moment. Go in with zero expectations and just enjoy the ride.
Thank you both for your reply!! I seriously appreciate the reassurance here, it's holding me back from punching…
Hahah, totally fair! We've (or ig I've bc I can't speak for everyone but I swear-) been conditioned by too many perfect green flag MLs from ep 1 that this was too perfect a setup for drawing out any ire.
My initial thought on the "you look so bad scene" was actually that it was considerate (in his own way), like he's thinking "Ah... people who are sporty must struggle a lot and have incidents like these happen. How can we accomodate them?"
But then the parallel between him being awestruck by Su Miao and telling her "You're beautiful" vs. him telling FL "You look so bad", and everything after that, completely reversed that π€£π’
At work taking a break but still thinking about this drama + so excited to see how they approach things

That makes complete sense, I just finished the 5th episode and I'm buying exactly into how the director wants us to feel. Super excited to see how things unravel and see how my impressions change.
I wish I'd known about this drama sooner! The comments must have had a lot of banter with the same questions/emotions I do, and it must have been fun to follow along. I tried scrolling down but my phone started lagging so I couldn't see what people mentioned before the 15th episode...
I'm on ep 3 now and I have mixed feelings. If Tang Qi sees beauty beyond appearance, he must have severely misunderstood…
Thank you both for your reply!! I seriously appreciate the reassurance here, it's holding me back from punching him through my screen (even though I like TJC lol!)
The "you look so bad" comment didn't put me off as much as his actions :( I guess it didn't sit right with me that he'd take the chance, while she just got spritzed with a beer bottle, to think it was appropriate to take a picture for his R&D after her humiliation. No consideration for her, just an onlooker/bystander.
His passivity throws me off, because it's as if she's not even worth being acknowledged as a human to him :(
He does a 180 for Su Miao, even though she purposely tries to deter him. He ignored SCC's intentions back then and makes no attempt to understand her now, but for this stranger who he is so fixated on, he puts it all aside.
I think it would have been more impactful if he saw her as her SCC when she saved the kid, as introducing Su Miao + saving kid early on, muddies the relationship between them a bit for me.
I'm hanging on for sure because I hope to be convinced otherwise about his character! It's very rare I feel strongly about a character, and I know this drama's point is to address the very thing we go through IRL π
