Haha agree with the title “The Captive” or “The Patient”... they did spent lots of scenes in prison&hospital, a bit too repetitive...

That’s weird, to think some actors didn’t interact at all, esp JunJie n his dad (unless u count the wedding scene where he kinda had eyecontact with his dad?)... plus since his dad is alive, why didn’t he walk XiZhuan down the aisle? There r just too many questionable scenes in the last few eps...

I even forgot about Amanda! N those people from the government, so nobody else is actually in the Scorpio? They just like to kissass here n there? I thought at least that Commander Chen was a Scorpio, coz he seemed bad n always out for JunJie&the gang... or maybe he is but he wasn’t found out?

For the grumbling scenes, I think ML&FL really didn’t hear him... I saw JunJie threw away his earpiece... they just wanna have their wedding peacefully n let YunHao handle the bad guys...

About that exchanging VX3 for YunHao scene, I always think that it’s JunJie who took that shot... I didn’t watch in detail, but I just assume that Calais wouldn’t shoot the briefcase since the controller is in it, right? Plus as I remember, they didn’t actually have the real VX3 n only used a prototype of it just as Ma Qiming told JunJie, since he didn’t wanna give them the real one... So maybe JunJie shot the controller in the briefcase just to show the bad guys the VX3, at least the controller is ruined...

Btw, who got the VX3 in the end? It’s still in Ma Qiming’s hands right? But with no controller I think...

I also think the drama could’ve been much better since I do too like the basic concept of it, just somehow the plot n execution was unsatisfying lots of times... but I have no regret watching it... I stayed for ML n his chems with FL... those factors made the drama ok for me...

Yes, I’ll def watch that Novoland series, I’m hoping it’ll air this year! I guess we’ll see... meanwhile, if u like historical drama with good plot, some actions, beautiful sets n amazing cast, I recommend “The Long Ballad”... I don’t know if u’ve watched it or not?

Sorry it took me too long to get back at u, just making sure I’ve finished the series first, the subbed one...

The last few eps were a bit flat... after everything that has built up to unfold what really happened with Scorpion n their parents, it was a let down... Yunhao somehow caught Alpha n rescued JunJie’s dad alone without ML&FL... there was no scene when JunJie met his dad! n IMO the last few eps editing were a bit off, some scenes turned out weird...

But overall I think the series was ok... it was promising at first, went dark fast when JunJie was captured again n again... however after the last time in prison, the plot started to pick up again n JunJie got to do some actions... then it ended with those weird last few eps with some unnecessary weird scenes... like the camera framing when ML&FL said their vows was just annoying (I don’t get why Yunhao has to be in that frame?)... n SFL was gonna declare her objection in their wedding? I thought she already accepted the fact that ML&FL r together... plus how is Datura out of prison n attend the wedding?

At least we got the happy ending right? ML&FL got married... all bad guys either die or captured, except Alpha... n how the series ended it was kinda entertaining with YunHao grumbling about his life.. haha!

I picked up some words here n there after lots of C-dramas I’ve watched... sometimes it’s enough...

I watched Once Upon a Time for a few seasons, I think I skipped the last few seasons n went straight to the last 2eps just to know how it ends... too many new characters I didn’t find interesting...

Princess Agents was good but yes one of the worst hanging ending... n since it has issue with plagiarism, don’t even know if it’ll be continued like ever...

Related to the drama, yes, it seems like more people complain about this... n it has shortcomings just like what u said, but I think some parts r good enough to make me keep watching... IMO there r many series that r much worse than this, at least this drama has its moments... plus again, I like the ML... but it’s better be a happy ending... hehe...

Btw eps39&40 was ok... have u seen it? some actions, a bit over the top kinda action actually, but it was ok for me, not that bad... I hope tomorrow they’ll air the last 3eps n not split it...

Owww ok... I kinda got it that JunJie was being sarcastic to MaQiming when he came to MOIS n mentioned something about him not being around to raise YunHao, but that’s as far as I got since 37&38 r not subbed yet...

I wonder which American show is that? Hehe...

I usually watch shows that’s already finished airing n completely subbed, skipping too angsty moments n even knowing it’s gonna be a happy ending is also a plus... but I haven’t started any other dramas n somehow I wanna watch this... I have no regrets, n grateful that the dark period is over... really, people r complaining about that? Nice to know that we r not alone...

I don’t know if JunJie’s dad is that famous, he’s just a familiar face n he plays in some dramas I’ve watched as someone’s father... the latest one I remember was in Begin Again, he played as FL’s dad there, not nice but not bad either... I rewatched some scenes of the latest eps, they showed pics of JunJie’s dad n ZiXuan’s dad when Maya the tech was trying to decode the chip, that’s how I noticed him... I’m just saying that IMO he is known enough n supposed not only play as a cameo in the first few eps... I think when u see his face u know what I mean...

I remember Ruan woman said something to Calais about hurting or not hurting JunJie to lure his dad’s out... I guess those bad people know that he is still alive... about his reason for not coming out, at least to tell his son that he is still alive, that is a big question... supposed like u said, maybe he is doing that to protect JunJie... but if he is the big boss, he is supposed to know when JunJie was captured by Ruan, right? He could’ve told her to release JunJie, just like what MuChuan did to save ZiXuan when she was injected with that poison... so he couldn’t have been the leader? But again, that Ruan does not exactly doing things according to Scorpion, so who knows...

1 question about YunHao if u don’t mind... why did he grow up in the orphanage with JunJie? Since his dad is MaQiming... Coz it looks like MaQiming cares enough about him... I’m just wondering if they explain that but it’s in of those scenes I kinda skimmed thru...

I really can’t wait for the last 5eps! I hope it won’t disappoint... The score keeps going down here, maybe coz it’s not available to international viewers... the YT channel u said I just checked, only subbed for the 1st eps, so yeah... N maybe people prefer to watch when it’s finished airing n not getting tortured each week waiting for the new eps, especially when it was the dark period where JunJie get arrested again n again... haha!

I think for JunJie, FL is the most important, which makes MuChuan her foster dad is somehow forgivable, after all lots of things MuChuan did was to protect FL (eventhough it means framing n making sure JunJie stayed away from her)... plus JunJie wanna know what happened to his parents n he is sure MuChuan knows something...

N now we know that his dad might still be alive, how about that? I’m just hoping his dad isn’t the big boss... coz the actor who plays JunJie’s dad is kinda famous, right? I remember watching him in some other dramas playing a not so good person I think...

So I guess the Scorpion Leader is still unconfirmed ... n since there r only 5eps left, I’m kinda convinced whoever that is will be a character that’s already been introduced to us... coz a new character at this point is kinda unlikely, don’t u think? IMO it’s between MaQiming, JunJie’s dad or Amanda... who else is on the run for it u think, I guess we’ll see... can’t wait for it to be unraveled...

About that broadcasting prob, I read somewhere that this drama was held a long time to be aired n already got paid much to be available in some international platforms, so I was hoping for that... but since the airing is regions restricted, I guess that’s not the case... maybe they’ll lift the restriction after it has finished airing locally...

Yes! I was finally ok watching Mu Chuan since his interaction is mostly with ML in the last few eps n not with his bad crowds who dominated the screen time...

I watched it on duboku n no sync probs... eps37&38 is good... eventhough no sub yet for those 2eps, but I kinda got the essence... it’s mixed feelings about what happened to Mu Chuan, I never liked him but yeah... he is a good villain I guess... but the other villains r still alive, so in the last few eps I hope they’ll all die or at least get arrested (esp that Ruan woman, Calais n Gu with the blue hair)... I’m still on a fence with Ma Qiming, I know he isn’t good n he is actually the big bad wolf, but he is still YunHao’s dad, so maybe there’ll be a twist... we’ll see I guess... I just want a happy ending especially for ML & FL after everything they’ve been through...

It’s not like I wanna promote the unofficial web to watch, n supposed it airs on IQIYI n I’m a VIP there, but it’s not available on my IQIYI... I’m always confused about that, when a drama poster includes for example in this case IQIYI logo, but it isn’t even airing there... maybe it’s a region problem?

After ML went to prison voluntarily to protect Mu Chuan there, the drama started to get interesting again (after 30th eps I think)... a bit more action for ML, he is finally free n not captured anymore, he can be out in the open, coz IMO many eps went too dark n it was just a hopeless situation for him for too long... I didn’t like those parts...

It starts picking up again n the good guys begin to see a bit of light... I hope this pace will stay like this till the end n the drama will end on a good note with all questions get answered n mainleads stay alive... can’t wait for the bad guys to finally die!

Let’s call this drama “In Captive” coz that’s the plot they use for ML at least 3times now (getting arrested 3times already till eps 30)... *sigh... I’m only staying for ML & his chems with FL... If he wasn’t the one playing this, I would’ve dropped this already...

The villains got too much screen time (much more than even the main leads) n the bad moments win compared to the good moments... maybe that’s how they want it I guess? Dark all the way? Coz some good people have died so far n no bad ones die yet, not the big villains at least...

I hope after a few days air breaks, we’ll see some lights n we can finally see the good guys start to win... for now it seems like it’s a losing battle for the good guys n only 13eps left...

I wish i had waited till it’s finished before I start watching this, it would’ve saved me lots of time being so unsatisfied... at least if I binged watch this, I could’ve skipped lots of unnecessary parts n just find out how it ends...

The Four, Swords of Legends n also Legend of Fragrance I think? All stories r so so, but some famous artists playing, so I checked them out, but I skipped lots I think, just wanna see the star players n how each story ended, hehe...

I’m having about enough of this show... guess what? Eps29 ML&FL somehow proved Mu Chuan is evil, so the evil one got arrested n ML could be in the open as a free man, so they celebrated in that eps, kinda, for 5mins... then in eps30, ML got arrested again when he already got reinstated in MOIS... I think something to do with what he had to do when the villain had him n FL captived, when he stole VX3 n they have a video of him doing that... u know I’m only assuming this based on some of the scenes I’m skipping thru, but I think that’s the general point... hehe

By now this drama should be called In Captive, since that’s most of the plot they use for ML... *sigh... I’m hoping ML being in prison won’t drag for another few eps since this drama should have around 40 something, right?

Sorry for my rant... I wanna sound more positive, but this drama plot is just so annoying...

I liked the chems between him n Zhao Liying in Mystic Nine, so I watched that Legend of Zhu too... his character there is kinda annoying, so I skipped lots, it wasn’t a happy ending too as far as I remember... but their chems is good, so that what kept me watching till the end eventhough the story was not that good...

I even watched his other old dramas, not only for him, coz he was in a few all stars casts dramas... they were ok I guess, considering they were old dramas n the CGI was not as advanced as it is nowadays...

Have fun watching this drama then! N as expected in the last 2eps (27&28), that Mu Chuan guy was dominating the screentime! *sigh... I hope u won’t mind if I have more questions...

I personally started to like ML when I watched him in The Mystic Nine, then I checked even his old historical dramas... I like his character in Only Side by Side with U, he is so funny n charming there... Lost Luv in Time is ok... Age of Legends I haven’t watched, I’m just not a fan of the FL who plays with him there, no hate, I know she is famous, but it’s just my personal reference... hehe

I’m looking fwd to his Novoland Pearl Eclipse, eventhough I have no idea when that will air...

I think I will not like it if the final conflict will be between ML FL n her foster dad where she has to choose... I prefer them against the villains for the ending...

I meant he ran away from the prison because he was framed for the attempt assassination on the rooftop... then he was captured by the villains, n escaped in eps23... then in eps26 he almost killed FL’s foster dad n be with FL in the car scene n doesn’t look like he is in a hurry n has to hide... so does that mean MOIS is not chasing him anymore?

Plus his friend, is he still loyal to ML or more to the villain since he likes FL? Or stay undecided? Coz he got lots of scenes with that Mu Chuan, but I have no idea where he stands...

Yeah... i scored 7.5 for now, n it can go up if it can be less heavier n less screentime for the villains... what keeps me going is ML n his chems with FL, if he wasn’t the actor I might have already dropped this...

I have nothing against the actor, he is a good villain n also the rest of the villians, it’s just that I started watching this for the mainleads, especially the ML, so it annoys me that I gotta see more of the bad guys on my screen, feels like this is their show... still waiting for the good guys to start get together n facing the villains side by side... it’s already more than half of the drama n not yet!

Storywise, I’m not actually that hooked, IMO the drama is focusing on too many things that happened in the past... we only got to see the not so gloomy days in the flashbacks n everyday gloomy in the present situation...
