Yeah, me too... if they stick as much as they can to the novel, we might get a good n an interesting one... not a TLB kinda good, but a good webdrama for this kinda genre... hehe...

By separated times i meant that ML will get promoted here n there while stationing in different cities... as far as I know one of the times he gets promoted is because the Emperor hopes that ML dies in the war, so after that FL will return to the capital as a widow... but ML didn’t die, so it’s a fail plan...
FL will also be the regent for the little Emperor when the Emperor dies, so she moves back to the capital for this n have another separated time with ML...
However, it’s as good as anybody’s guess about how much of these separated times will be in the drama... for a 40eps drama, they usually like to use this kinda plot to keep ML&FL apart for at least a few eps... I hope it won’t drag the angst coz i like watching ML&FL in the same frame... we’ll see...
I have mixed feelings about this drama, when I read the spoilers and summary on the novel, even though I know…

If somehow she loses to that Gao gal n suddenly becomes dumb, then I might drop this... but I don’t see that happening... FL still has a long way to go n too many things to do...

Based on the summary of the novel, around the same time the Emperor dies, his mother the Empress Dowager dies too... n FL became the regent for the little emperor because of the will from the Emperor... I guess he realizes that his Empress is dumb, so he doesn’t want her to be the regent...
I like Joseph Zeng since Ultimate Note. But his last series with Liang Jie was so disappointing I had to drop…
So far this is more promising than his last drama, I watched that too n the angst was crazy! I skipped a lot, that’s how I managed to finish it, eventhough with annoyed feeling... at least it ended happily...
If this one follows the novel, they’ll stay married till the end... lots of palace politics later on, i think that’s why it’ll have 40eps... for sure this is not only fluffy romance kinda drama, there will be lots of plots in the mix, but IMO the chemistry between ML&FL makes it worth it to watch...

ML’s cousin is that Li Lin, they introduce him in eps12 during their wedding.. n from the way he keeps glancing at that Gao gal which is ML’s childhood friend, I think he likes her... n in the novel they’ll get married...
Or which ML’s cousin u meant? I think he is the only one that has been introduced so far if there is any other one... N that Gao gal is also ML’s only childhood friend who likes ML for a long time n will be the evil in Li’s family bcoz of her unrequited luv towards ML...

Yeah, both ep 11 n 12 are like an hour long too so ffw through 8-10 and watching 11 n 12 make it all worth it...
I hope so too... but so far he doesn’t even act like a really nice honest guy...
- he acts pity so the grandma betrothed him to FL after the incident with The Emperor... - he found FL outside the Treasure place after the fire n acted like he is her savior... - he pretended to get hurt n not telling FL when it wasn’t him who won the joust thing opposite that Yongqing Prince... - n lastly when he found out about ML’s feelings towards FL, he went so mad n said bad things about how ML is lowborn who didn’t deserve the princess, etc... n don’t forget that cheap shot when he stabbed ML while ML was actually saving him!
Somehow he feels entitled to have the Princess n doesn’t even bother to find out if she has the same feelings... he likes her, so for him that’s enough... thats why IMO so far he doesn’t show any redeeming quality... but yeah I agree, hopefully he won’t stay evil till the end...
In the novel, the ml became the emperor, she became his empress.
I read it from the novel summary, before that she’ll be the guardian for the Emperor’s son after the Emperor dies... she’ll rule on behalf of the kid, right? Coz there’s that scene in the trailer where FL with a little kid standing in front of everybody, so I kinda assume that’s the Emperor’s son she is with... before I read the summary I was kinda afraid that if that’s their son instead of the Emperor’s son, that would mean that ML dies in the end, which I don’t want to happen...
Do u mind telling me if in the novel FL has always wanted to stay off Palace? at the start of the drama, FL said that she has always wanted to have a life out of palace... so it’s kinda a contradiction if she ends up being an Empress... I wonder if the drama will have a different kinda ending, where they’ll have that out of palace kinda life... coz so far it doesn’t look like ML has that big of ambition, not what’s already shown anyway...

From the summary I read about the novel, that Gao gal the childhood friend of ML will marry Li Lin, ML’s cousin that shows up in eps12... we’ll have to wait n see if it follows the novel...

However I just watched the trailer for eps 17-18, n it kinda looks like he is finally ok with ML&FL being together, the scene was all of them in the same room... maybe becoz ML saved him in eps16...

Unfortunately if u’ve seen the next few eps trailer, u’ll see that Gao will be the villain in Li’s fam... I just hope they don’t drag it out for too long... I’d prefer to watch ML&FL’s working together, plotting n investigating stuff rather than seeing SFL being evil... at least i hope they’ll keep FL smart so she’ll not fall for her tricks...

I haven’t read the novel, but I’ve watched the drama... n 8eps in, nothing implies reincarnation... so IMO…
Rebirth for you is the title of the novel as far as I know... so this drama is based on that... however the reason why they still call the drama that when there is no reincarnation plot (so far), I have no idea...
I don’t know if u realize it, but the synopsis here in MDL is also changed... before it was described like how it is in the novel (with FL reincarnated n kept her memories as an Empress from her past life, etc)... but the new synopsis like how u can read on the top, mentions nothing about the reincarnation part.. so whether or not they will include the reincarnation plot is as good as anyone’s guess... it is 40eps drama, so it’s still a long way to go since only 8eps have been released... so I guess we’ll see...
