I rewatched a few times (maybe more) since it aired. I am still surprised when I watch how horrible (treatment and general disregard) the ML was toward the FL in the first 2 to 3 episodes. I know it’s fictional but the way the FL was treated and mistreated was beyond sad and wrong. 🫤

King the Land, Gu Won (ML) [played by Lee Jun-ho] was very a very Green Flag, even asking permission before kissing the FL under the fire sprinklers. IMO

Personally I think SR’s world always lacked love from a parental figure.

Maybe the way she was patented was the way the Chaebol/Mins show their “love” by fixing the child’s misdeeds making them live aboard in luxury but no Love.

I can’t imagine the chairman ever saying something lovingly to his children. He barely acknowledged SR and she was never shown in any father/daughter kind nurturing situations.
SR was out of the country until the start of the show, I think.

I also don’t like especially sad, heavy or angsty Kdramas.
The preview I watched looked mighty heavy… but as we know: previews can be and are often misleading!

I’ll forgo the plea that JiSeop assaulted what he believed at the time was his sister, niece, stranger he knew for 20 years. In the final episode there was no time for resolution, apologies or repercussions.

As far as Manager Gong, she did commit a genuine crime regardless of reason. Taking someone’s child because the one you brought was probably dying is not a valid reason.
Even if you leave one as a replacement. Yes that’s a feeble attempt at facetious humor.
She still messed up two families with her “good intentions” or were they entitled thoughts.
Lucia’s child was hers to take because poor GC was not well?

(Truly I was surprised the MS had no health issues after being poisoned by “daddy SJ”.)

Ji Seop was conveniently unhinged for a few minutes in the final episode . That was over the top violence on a 20 year old and less than half his weight. Not that any physical violence is acceptable but 1 slap would have been too much but 3.
And after Lucia slapped him, he slapped SR again.

I know it was a plot convenience that not one adult female tried to protect “our SeRi” His wife or GC’s sister should have grabbed the golf club to use on him.

He was never violent and even a scaredy-cat through 124 episodes.

And Manager Gong has no consequences for “stealing” a baby, even though she left a replacement.

And yes lots of characters with no final destination.

I hated the SR character after the assault on MiSo, but she had a complete transformation. Beginning the moment Lucia gave her the love and care she never had! And desperately needed!

I agree with your post… many Kdrama endings are not as good as their beginnings!
It was so out of character for JS to slap SR hard 3 times and no one did anything until Lucia & GC showed up. I guess he does have the chairman’s blood in his veins. I could have accepted yelling maybe grabbing SR … well it’s over so that’s a wrap!🫤

(I haven’t watched yet, but from your description it doesn’t seem hopeful.)

It’s ironic that neither mother (GC or Lucia) puts SR first. Both mothers are still focused on the Min dynasty. I’m not sure that is Lucia’s dream job.

SR almost ended her life and Lucia asks are you okay to go home by yourself? Unless the tears in my eyes caused me to misread the subs…
It also seems like Lucia got the heartfelt apology for MiSo’s death she needed from SR.

And while I understand that GC only knows how to parent from the cold, money makes you right perspective, that caused SR to be unhappy and cruel enough to hire a thug to beat MiSo severely.

I guess I don’t see GC helping her grow in to a better person.
SR seems to have a much more caring personality than GC already probably from Lucia’s genetics.

I’m still not sure where the “SeRi and her two moms” story is going to end.

That’s exactly why I really don’t like older KDramas… because male characters couldn’t hear the word “No”, let alone respect it.
Today there hear the word, they just don’t think it applies to them. 😡🤯😔

I agree, they were funny! I had hoped it would be a little better for the final few episodes… but alas…not. My theory with Kdramas is that communication (lies & omissions) cause most of the issues in the show. Why couldn’t Lucia tell SR she was her biological mother. SR would gave known she cares about her as she went in to a room on fire to save her. That had to count for something!I guess it’s pointless to ask why at this point! 🫣

I agree, even if it’s a court room scene with the verdict read, it should happen… he’s top notch scum!

They focused on that goat restaurant couple too much. That should have been once a week at most! (IMO)

You may get a bubble bath but not a blood bath with this script… 🙁
