I don't know what I was expecting, but I'm enjoying this show so much. I have laughed out so much my stomach hurts. I love that the comedy is not limited to the main leads only, but the whole cast is allowed to shine.
This is the first time I actually don't mind sound effects because they fit the vibe so much. That scene when Heng yelled out "I want to sleep with Mo" the cast reaction was my reaction 😂😂 The sound effects for that scene when Boss and Mo were arguing back and forth and listing Heng's bad qualities was too funny. Looking forward to more episodes!!

Watch The Sword and the Brocade, Flight to you, As Beautiful as you, Under the power, or Master of my own, if you really want to get to know the FL. Seven Tan is the FL in all of these shows and she's amazing in them! One thing for sure, she's an amazing actress that takes on really good roles. Nothing ever childish for her.
As Beautiful as you (ABAY) where she's FL, imo, is one of the best, romance drama that came out this year. Esp for a business romance. I enjoyed the storytelling!

Oh wow, people didn't like his character in My Sassy Princess?? That's so interesting to learn because that's the show that I discovered him in. I loved his character so much that I went exploring his other shows. I like him as an actor and I'm excited to see him on my screen.

I'm the same as you, I don't go off ratings because many times ratings can be deceiving. I have watched shows that have a 6.3 ratings (short dramas) on here and I ended up loving them. On that same note, I haven't been able to watch some shows with high ratings.
While I still want you to check this out yourself, I gotta say though, unfortunately, this is one of those shows that actually deserves its low ratings.
Personally, I enjoyed many parts of it. But as a whole, it left a lot to be desired. It's actually a beautiful story about two people who find each other and connect emotionally. But fate has another agenda... It's very philosophical. But the way the writers told it is was nonsensical and bland.
It's not a bad drama per say, it's just that the pacing is bad. So storylines don't "hit" as intended. Sometimes It's very drawn out and nonsensical and other times it moves a little.
The main plot that connects the ML and FL together repeats for like 20 or so episodes. He goes on a quest, gets hurts, comes back and she cures him. OVER AND OVER AGAIN.(Which isn't a problem to me cause I enjoyed their interactions during these moments) but it does get tiring because it felt like the plot wasn't moving...
The main issue is, after everything that happened, there was no payoff at the end... There are other issues, but I will leave you to find out yourself... Happy watching!! Let me know what you think after watching!

Yea, unfortunately, many good dramas falls victim to "wasted time" and bad editing during production. They could have cut down a lot of unnecessary things and made the story tighter (I also wanted to know everything you mentioned) but they chose otherwise. It was a very unsatisfying ending to me.
Lol I think sometimes cdrama directors and producers forget that they have to stay within 40 episodes limit. The previous formaulas of old shows (misunderstandings, letting the story drag in the middle, unnecessary side plots, etc) doesn't work anymore with these censorship constraints. Well, unless they are having 2 seasons like LYF...
It will be interesting to see how cdrama writers adjust their storytelling techniques to these new censorships. I guess we are about to enter a new era.
Overall, the story was okay. I will always cherish (and rewatch) the first 16 episodes. Those episodes have my heart forever. The rest is neither here or there...

One of my favorite thing to do is to come on MDL and read comments and debate the show/talk about actors acting or anything regarding the show. But it feels very different here because I've seen how everyone jump and bully anyone who dares not to like the show or the acting. I understand people are sensitive but as long as it's not blatant hate (I do see those hateful accounts, those don't count) people shouldn't be jumping down and bullying others for their opinion.
I have watched shows with other Fandoms before(I'm not in any "fandom" I just like what I like) but damn this is on another level... I guess you could say I'm a passerby (I'm a fan of both actors, will always watch their shows, but I'm not in the "fandom"). Lol even I can't handle the reactions and find them exhausting, imagine how new watchers feel..💀
I hope we can all allow eachother to just enjoy or not enjoy the show❤️
