When you put it like this, it feels a little less like the annoying noble idiocy trope. (I still think there's a mixture of that) And more like their characters personalities just staying in line with who they are. From day one YZJ has been secretive and holding things close to his chest. So it does kinda make sense that he wouldn't just change overnight just cause he's in love. I don't like the angst, but unfortunately, it's needed for their characters to reinvent themselves

I think it all started breaking apart for me at around ep 17

He first caught my attention from SOT and I was excited for his acting career. But I started side eyeing him when SKOP came out and read that he was the one who "slipped" (willfully) and made a comment about ZLH going on a "date" with Bai Lu and hiring paparazzi to film them. Turns out it wasn't just a dinner between the two, but with everyone on the cast. But he made it seemed that way. After his comment, ZLH started getting so much hate from Bai Lu fans...
Then during The Double, it came out that he had mentioned how he was bullied during his school days... It created a big pity party and support for him online. While it might be true, I still found it sus that it came out at that time... And then the whole thing that happened with his team during The Double (his team posted an unauthorized picture of The Double online) Yu Zheng got so angry that he had said he will fire his team)
Now this... Anyways, I'm trying my hardest not to believe any of this... But...just too many coincidences around him involving other actors, that is getting too hard to ignore... I really think he's a great actor. I just hope he's not resorting to these petty tricks to rise up🫠

No, it's not like LLTG. She admires SML for his easy going nature and views, (Duan Wu spent years being a slave, fighting for her life, so to her the SML is pure) but she is not attracted to him. She has told him many times that they do not belong in the same world.
She practically lives with ML because she's a worker on his ship. So they have A LOT of interactions. Most of the time SML is not present, as he's not on the ship. They only run into him when they are on land.
The relationship between the ML and FL is nicely developed as the story progress.

But because YZJ had given SML a hint about the Cui family next business deal, he decided to go to that town. That's why they are all in the same place now...
