After having seen the whole drama I agree with those who found the ending to be consistent with the whole plot,…
You are right. After having some time to sit with it yesterday, I came to the same conclusion. A lot of people might agree with your comment. HOWEVER, from my understanding, there are mostly two types of angry crowd. And their anger is kinda justified. I fall into the second category:
The first: Novel readers: In the novel, MRJH was a sadistic azzhole. Many people have complained abt the book because of how awful MRJH is. BUT, he got his happy ending. While drama MRJH was the sweetest man you could think of, but yet he didn't get a HE. Also, apparently, the poison arc was never in the book. All these coupled together left viewers pissed with the ending.
The second type of angry people: when it comes down to it, I don't really think people are mad at the death itself per say. It's how the writers went about telling the story that got us to that death. People would have been way more forgiving of the ending if the writing was solid before the ending. Lol all up and down here people are mostly blaming the script writing.
The story became very jumbled in the third and fourth arcs. Characters were acting out of character...Their behavior s weren't lining up with their established known traits/personality.
For eg, Mei Lin leaving just like that when MRJH told her to leave. She never puts up a fight even though she has lived for revenge for 10 years.( even became a poisoned assassin for it.) The Mei Lin we knew before that was a very stubborn person who took care of business. Taking revenge is the essence of who her character is. So why did she meekly agree to go to Xiyan and not take her revenge... Bad writing...
Lol so this already irritated viewers... Then Luo Mei suddenly falling in love with CP, the big "revenge" taking place at ep 22. The whole xiyan arc, Yue Qin not giving Mei Lin the medicine on time when he had so many chances to do it, him being the only to stay alive after committing all those henious acts...
To viewers, it felt like things were just happening because the writers wanted it that way, not because it mattered to the already established plot. All these coupled together, it made for one bad ending in the eyes of viewers
Could someone kindly explain the reason behind MJH asking Mei Lin to kill him, especially when he was her master…
Because he wants to reopen the case from years ago. His death by an assassin who has a grudge about the massacre will get the king to reinvestigate the case
Looks like you just finished episode 2? Lol the answer you seek should be right on the next episode. Keep watching.
This drama feels similar to A Journey to Love (AJTL), where nearly every character meets a tragic end. However,…
You are absolutely right. I was just thinking this same thing, but applying it to the ratings of both shows. Even with all the deaths in AJTL, the ratings didn't drop. But with this show, the ratings keep dropping because of the ending.
I'm thinking it's because of the writing leading up to the ending. Though I believe the deaths in AJTL was unnecessary, and made me angry, the writing before all the deaths was really well done. So, I guess the ending was forgivable. So people didn't drop their ratings. But it's the opposite for this show.
Lol I guess also, this is just a tough crowd watching this showπ
From everyoneβs comments, it sounds like itβs a sad endingβ¦.if that is the case, Iβm not going to bother…
Lol not really a sad ending... they got married. Had sweet moments. She dies first. He died in old age.
I think the reason why the ending feels jarring and unsatisfactory to people is because of the way the writers wrote everything leading up to it. It wasn't done well
So even the though the ending is not "sad" per say, everything else that happened overshadowed the ending. Leading people to be angry
I know that drama ending was pretty bad but donβt let the haters (fan of other drama) come and rant this down.…
I agree with you!! This will be an opportunity for haters to fill the page with hate rant...
So far though, even though I've seen people annoyed with the ending, the general feelings around here has been fun. Lol we are all laughing away our painπ
Wheeww... Finally done with this. At first, I was angry with the ending. But after I've had some time to sit with it, I realized it's not so bad. I think many of us are angry with the ending because of the way the writers told the final arc leading up to the ending... The writers lost their way...The story lost itself...
But first, I want to say, LXY and WJY did an EXCELLENT job with what they were given(which wasn't much). But they made so much out of it!!. So even if I'm annoyed at the overall story, I appreciate their work. They made it enjoyable to watch them. I will definetely rewatch some of my favorite episodes!! (Ep 1-18).
This show has 4 arcs: ----The first 12 episodes was one arc.(lol the toxic meeting and joining hands, character establishment arc) -Episode 13-18 (fall in love, spend time together arc, continue to plan revenge) ---Episode 19-24 (carry out "revenge" arc). ---Episode 25-32 (final arc, ending)
The story started losing its way in the third arc. The writers spent the first two arcs building these characters one way. Then spent the last two arcs making the characters behave out of character. So a lot of the characters essence got lost in the ether. The third arc was all over the place leading the final arc to be very jumbled and unnecessary, leading to the ending we got.
When I think about it, the ending itself is not that unsatisfactory. It's the build up to it that's very unsatisfactory, which robs off on the ending. The writers lost their way. Bad writers of this show should be condemned. Whoever wrote this should NEVER be allowed near a script again
omg i started this show a couple days ago im on like ep 6 i think and idk if i should continue the comments are…
You should continue, if only to see the leads fall in love. It was a couple of amazing episodes. Then if you don't want heartbreak, stop at ep 18. That was a nice "ending"
Looking forward to another wonderful interactions!!
Some parts of the journey was good, but the destination made people angry π
Watch for the best acting you will get from the main leads, and amazing chemistry!
This azzhole in this show however, should have perished with everyone else. But yet the writers...π«
But it's quite funny that most of ML tears are fake cause he's such a dramatic person ππ

Though the destination sucked, Some parts of the ride was amazing!!! So, I will have that to keep me company. (Ep 1-18)π€
