Lol no skinship. From the beginning I knew this is not the drama for that. (I'm fine with that). I Just wanted them to atleast openly acknowledged they liked eachother.

I only stopped watching cause the story became a little repetitive. (He gets injured, she saves him, etc..) But I might pick it up again when I'm done with KMLM!

I kinda dropped this at ep 17 or so when KMLM came out... How did it end? Did it stop being a drag? I know it's a sad ending, but did the characters ever truly get together? Atleast have some couple moments together?👀

I guess... My intial comment wasn't critiqing people commentting on the show. It was a comment to show another side of Mei Lin cause I think people misunderstood her. The comment about critics was in response to someone else comment.

But anyways... that's exactly how I feel about the comment section on MDL lately. Not just this drama. It's good to critique, I do it too... It's fun sometimes and opens discussions... But when people are complaining every other episode about every single thing, that just goes beyond critique. It's not fun anymore. I come here cause I enjoy reading everyone's comments. I say that all the time. But once it's all complaining non stop, it stops being fun😭

I get it, I truly understand. There have been some shows on here that have annoyed the heck out of me *cough cough... TPR, YAMS LON, to name a few*** But once I found myself getting to the point where I had nothing good to say about those shows anymore, I stopped commenting on those shows. Cause I know my constant complain might annoy others...

It's fair... And I agree with you. I still think it's a decent watch compared to the other two shows premiering right now (had to both both on hold) that's why I'm still here

Yes, we are all critics. We discuss and talk about the shows. But we shouldn't be ctiticing everything and every single thing to the point that it's becoming less enjoyable . That's just my opinion. A show needs to breath sometimes and viewers need to let it breath too.

I felt like I had to say something because, while the show might not be perfect at every moment, Mei Lin has been the most consistent character in this show. Her core personality/ character element has stayed the same since episode 1.

But yet people have bad things to say. People are still not satisfied 😭

I think people might be getting frustrated because of the 1 episode a day schedule. So they are judging each episode as a stnad alone instead of a small part that makes up a whole.

I have noticed their marketing for this show sucks💀 I get it, they are trying to draw viewers in, but they are going about it the wrong way😭

I see a lot of people disappointed about the way the show is going and how it seems Mei Lin is not the same assassin that was first introduced. People are disappointed that it seems she has changed and not a "bad azz" assassin anymore. This is understandable. But maybe we are misunderstanding her character/who she is as a person.

Here's her character so far from my understanding:

Firstly, we know Mei Lin is an assassin. But she's an assassin with one goal and one goal only: Assassinate MRJ and avenge her people. She trained for 10 years just for this. We never hear about her assassinating anyone else. She only had one goal. Kill MRJ.

Secondly: She came to fulfill her goal and get revenge. But on this journey, she found proof that MRJ is not the killer of her people. As an assassin, her goal changed: join hands with MRJ, find the real killer and avenge her people. She is doing that currently.

Thirdly: She is currently on her mission for revenge. Yes, she fell in love on the way, but that doesn't mean she gave up revenge. Every steps her and MRJ are taking is for their ultimate revenge.

Back to why I think you've misunderstood her core character: yes, Mei Lin is an assassin. But from episode one, we've also been shown that she's a soft soul. When not being an assassin (or protecting people), she's a very simple person who dreams of a good simple life for herself. Even in her interactions with others, you can see how easy going, straightforward and simple she is. She smiles easily, and enjoys friendships. She cherish those close to her.

Her goal has always been revenge and living a simple life afterwards. Her character has not strayed from her core personality introduced since episode 1. Her character has been consistent. So her falling in love does not mean she's not a "bad azz assassin" anymore.

The Mei Lin you are seeing right now is the Mei Lin she's always been. It's just that, that side of hers was sometimes hidden because she had to shoulder everything herself. Now she doesn't have to because she has someone else to help her with her revenge. So we are seeing her true self (soft soul) more and more. IMO, She is a well rounded character.❤️

Nah, his feelings for her are not true. He might think they are but he doesn't really love the real her. He's just obsessed and infatuated. He only knew the sweet version of her when they met once. They met ONE TIME 10 years ago when she helped him. Maybe they only interacted for 30 mins. Since then, he's been obsessed with this version of her that he has in his head.

I think the reason why his character sudden "love" for Mei Lin makes no sesnse and is irritating viewers is because, when they met again, he never even took the time to get to know her or understand her as a person. He just goes straight to wanting to own her, because he already has a "version" of her in his head. He's already saying she's his princess heir, without even talking to her about it. NOT ONCE has he really talked to Mei Lin about wanting a relationship with her. Everything has been in his head.

That's delusions and not love. He does not deserve her or deserve to even think they will be together. He needs to get over his obsession.

I swear Luo Mei character is irking... I used to ignore her delusions in the beginning but now I can't stand her. She's so self righteous and so far up her own azz, she can't come down to earth to see things clearly. She's ALWAYS coming to the WRONG conclusions🫠

This episode was good to watch. We are finally seeing (albeit slowly) the effects of the shadow poison on Mei Lin... it's going to be so sad when she discovers it was MRJ all along who poisoned her😭

I love that they made them fall in love first though, before things goes south. So then the betrayal will be more hurtful (lol am I carzy for liking it this way???)😭

On another note, omg does the delusional siblings ANNOY the hell out of me💀 I seriously cannot stand them. Concubine Yan is just as bad as her brother. Leave Mei Lin alone. She is not your property. Neither did she ask you to fight her battles. I'm glad though that Mei Lin let her know MRJ is the one she loves and that they are together.
