Lol people are disappointed about what they thought the show would be versus what its actually is....💀 It seems…
It's fair... And I agree with you. I still think it's a decent watch compared to the other two shows premiering right now (had to both both on hold) that's why I'm still here
Lol people are disappointed about what they thought the show would be versus what its actually is....💀 It seems a lot of people have dropped, and the ratings have gone down again.
Not me though. I'm enjoying the heck out of it... no mater what, good or bad, I've already hitched my wagon to them. So, I'm just going to enjoy the ride😂🤗
I have given up understanding why, really. tbh some people just want a drama to fit their expectations and when…
Yes, we are all critics. We discuss and talk about the shows. But we shouldn't be ctiticing everything and every single thing to the point that it's becoming less enjoyable . That's just my opinion. A show needs to breath sometimes and viewers need to let it breath too.
I have given up understanding why, really. tbh some people just want a drama to fit their expectations and when…
Exactly!!! I felt like I had to say something because, while the show might not be perfect at every moment, Mei Lin has been the most consistent character in this show. Her core personality/ character element has stayed the same since episode 1.
But yet people have bad things to say. People are still not satisfied 😭
I think people might be getting frustrated because of the 1 episode a day schedule. So they are judging each episode as a stnad alone instead of a small part that makes up a whole.
Lol everyone is a expert TV critic nowadays and it's making the show not fun anymore... can't we just enjoy a show just because???...😭
I see a lot of people disappointed about the way the show is going and how it seems Mei Lin is not the same assassin that was first introduced. People are disappointed that it seems she has changed and not a "bad azz" assassin anymore. This is understandable. But maybe we are misunderstanding her character/who she is as a person.
Here's her character so far from my understanding:
Firstly, we know Mei Lin is an assassin. But she's an assassin with one goal and one goal only: Assassinate MRJ and avenge her people. She trained for 10 years just for this. We never hear about her assassinating anyone else. She only had one goal. Kill MRJ.
Secondly: She came to fulfill her goal and get revenge. But on this journey, she found proof that MRJ is not the killer of her people. As an assassin, her goal changed: join hands with MRJ, find the real killer and avenge her people. She is doing that currently.
Thirdly: She is currently on her mission for revenge. Yes, she fell in love on the way, but that doesn't mean she gave up revenge. Every steps her and MRJ are taking is for their ultimate revenge.
Back to why I think you've misunderstood her core character: yes, Mei Lin is an assassin. But from episode one, we've also been shown that she's a soft soul. When not being an assassin (or protecting people), she's a very simple person who dreams of a good simple life for herself. Even in her interactions with others, you can see how easy going, straightforward and simple she is. She smiles easily, and enjoys friendships. She cherish those close to her.
Her goal has always been revenge and living a simple life afterwards. Her character has not strayed from her core personality introduced since episode 1. Her character has been consistent. So her falling in love does not mean she's not a "bad azz assassin" anymore.
The Mei Lin you are seeing right now is the Mei Lin she's always been. It's just that, that side of hers was sometimes hidden because she had to shoulder everything herself. Now she doesn't have to because she has someone else to help her with her revenge. So we are seeing her true self (soft soul) more and more. IMO, She is a well rounded character.❤️
Edit: like I said at the very beginning, this is all from my understanding of the character. It's okay if you have a different understanding. I still wanted to put this out there...
Even with new previews for next episodes, I just don't feel the excitement anymore 😔Our FL - powerful assassin…
I'm going to mildly push back on what you said about the FL. I think you've misunderstood her core character/personality. And who she is as a person. I will come back to that later.
Firstly, we know Mei Lin is an assassin. But she's an assassin with one goal and one goal only: Assassinate MRJ and avenge her people. She trained for 10 years just for this. We never hear about her assassinating anyone else. She only had one goal. Kill MRJ.

As for MRJ... lol l agree with you... let's just hope he has a better plan than what we are seeing😭💀
I know everyone here hate SML. But, his feeling for FL is true and he fully supports the FL so far. I can’t…
Nah, his feelings for her are not true. He might think they are but he doesn't really love the real her. He's just obsessed and infatuated. He only knew the sweet version of her when they met once. They met ONE TIME 10 years ago when she helped him. Maybe they only interacted for 30 mins. Since then, he's been obsessed with this version of her that he has in his head.
I think the reason why his character sudden "love" for Mei Lin makes no sesnse and is irritating viewers is because, when they met again, he never even took the time to get to know her or understand her as a person. He just goes straight to wanting to own her, because he already has a "version" of her in his head. He's already saying she's his princess heir, without even talking to her about it. NOT ONCE has he really talked to Mei Lin about wanting a relationship with her. Everything has been in his head.
That's delusions and not love. He does not deserve her or deserve to even think they will be together. He needs to get over his obsession.
I feel like the concubine will be like the CP mom sigh also luo mei GURL please it's not a fight for the crown…
I swear Luo Mei character is irking... I used to ignore her delusions in the beginning but now I can't stand her. She's so self righteous and so far up her own azz, she can't come down to earth to see things clearly. She's ALWAYS coming to the WRONG conclusions🫠
This episode was good to watch. We are finally seeing (albeit slowly) the effects of the shadow poison on Mei Lin... it's going to be so sad when she discovers it was MRJ all along who poisoned her😭
I love that they made them fall in love first though, before things goes south. So then the betrayal will be more hurtful (lol am I carzy for liking it this way???)😭
On another note, omg does the delusional siblings ANNOY the hell out of me💀 I seriously cannot stand them. Concubine Yan is just as bad as her brother. Leave Mei Lin alone. She is not your property. Neither did she ask you to fight her battles. I'm glad though that Mei Lin let her know MRJ is the one she loves and that they are together.
Yo... the CP is evil EVIL... he's slowly poisoning the emperor with an incense??? How come no one has noticed yet??? I have a bad feeling this is going to be blamed on MRJ😭😭
rolling 🤣 my eyes 👀 right abt now here it is the trope I hate the most 2FL- I saw you first I want you and…
Don't know what episode you are on, but she doesn't really matter when it comes to the leads relationship... However, she's the chess piece in the CP fight for the throne
Ep 18 was so fun to watch. I was smiling like a fool and now my cheeks hurt. Gosh they are too adorable... Mr live in husband...🤭Youku you MUST give us a happy ending...lol how do we petition them for a happy ending??? Anyone knows?? Lol
I'm so worried about the upcoming episodes cause I know it's going to be angsty. I'm also scared about the secret MRJ is keeping... Just thinking about what will happen when Mei Lin finds out is giving me a headache 💀
On another note, I really love how this show is shot. The scenes are very realistic and simple. When our leads are together (lol not trying to kill eachother) they really act like grownups in a relationship. I'm enjoying the mature acting and relationship. Thank god they didn't get a very young/green actress for this role!
so is this another Cdrama that ml fall first and harder and get gealous while fl don't even think of him and just…
You are welcome!
Lol if I may, the FL in the double was married to SML, so it makes sense that she was in love with him, and that she kissed him when they were married.
Also, we never saw their relationship on screen. All we saw was flashbacks .
Lol I feel like it makes no sense, and it's a little harsh to judge the FL off that? It's unreasonable to expect a grown married woman not to kiss her husband?
But anyway, we all have our preferences.! Happy watching!
Not me though. I'm enjoying the heck out of it... no mater what, good or bad, I've already hitched my wagon to them. So, I'm just going to enjoy the ride😂🤗

I have noticed their marketing for this show sucks💀 I get it, they are trying to draw viewers in, but they are going about it the wrong way😭

I'm glad it didn't suffer from hateful netizens... I hope it meets and beats all expectations!!!
They are officially together and it was the most beautiful confession ever!
Lol but now I know the angsty part is about to begin because they are heading to the capital now💀
