I watched Love Me Love My Voice when it was on air, but dropped it (at around ep 15) because it didn't really have a plot. It wasn't what I was looking for at the time😭 But now that I'm in the mood for such shows, I think I will go back to it!!

That scene in ep 13 wouldn't have had such an impact if they hadn't humanize MRJ in the beginning. If he had been all bad and nothing else, viewers wouldn't have felt an emotional connection to him when that scene happened.

I understand. But if they hadn't humanize him first, then episode 13 (the final 10 mins) wouldn't have had such a big emotional impact like it did.
Apparently, "that scene" in episode 13 (you will know once you watch it) was also in the novel, but according to novel readers, instead of sympathizing with him, they thought he deserved it and laughed at him, because of how curel he was in the novel. It didn't had such an emotional impact on readers like the shows version had.
So yea, it's good we got to see his softer side before we got that scene. Because it's such an important aspect of his character.
Also, apparently "that scene" in ep 13 has had a high impact on netizens. Everyone is praising how well LYX acted it out!

She didn't crumple the painting out of spite. She was just following what her friend said about doing a ritual that will help her forget MRJ. Mei Lin was hurt because she was already in love with MRJ
Their relationship wasn't confirmed at this point, so why should she regret anything?? And guess what happened the next episode??? she's the one who saved him from BIG embarrassment. Lol

It's worth it. It's an amazing story with everything you listed. It's a mature love story.
Lol that's all I can really say. You have to watch for yourself and decide. Don't always go by ratings cause many factors influence that. And also, not a lot of people that are watching rates shows in the beginning.
Also, not all newly released drama ratings are high from the get-go...
