One thing that suprised me is that Mei Lin didn't keep the letters from Murong Jing but showed it to him right away. Based on watching other cdramas like this, the FL always keeps something to herself and try to play the hero. So I was really suprised to see Mei Lin so open and sharing of info as soon as she got it. I guess that's who she is. Ever since she pledged to follow him and be his blade, to her, there's no secret between them anymore. They are one and the same working towards the same goal.
She's so forward, so honest in her dealings with Murong Jing... omg It's going to hurt so much when she finds out the secret he's been keeping 😭 I'm so excited and scared for the reveal!

Murong Jing is such a complex soul. You can see it in the way he interacts with Mei Lin. Though he's the man and has a mean facade for everyone, he's a soft soul. Because he closed himself off from the world for 10yrs living like a dead person, he really doesn't know how to take Mei Lin. She's a straight forward person. She doesn't take things personally if it doesn't involve her revenge. She enjoys the simple things in life and live to fight another day. Though Murong Jing has all the experience, you can see that with Mei Lin, even when they are doing simple things, it's new to him in a way.
One moment they are acting cute, the next moment he's threatening her life and asking her to choose...They are so funny together. 😂
I'm really enjoying how Murong Jing switches his speech. How he goes from bored, nonchalant, mocking, draggy speech when he's talking to outsides to serious and stern when talking to the people around him. LXY is really doing a good job with bringing this world weary character to life!

I totally understand you. But Mei Lin as a character is a straight forward person. The one thing that kept her alive for 10yrs was the fact that she believed Murong Jing massacred her people. Once she realized he is not the killer, she accepted the truth and that was that. That's her nature and who she is. She doesn't wrongly pursue people just for the sake of it.
Lol BUT, there are many more conflicts to arise. Esp when she finds out what he's been hiding... We will then get to see the conflicted side of her because by then they would have already built a relationship.

Cdramas are heavily censored. And A LOT of things are not allowed to be shown. They just started allowing kiss scenes/"raunchy" scenes a few years back. So when a show pass censorship with these type of scenes in them, viewers go crazy because it feels like a once in a lifetime thing😭

But as many people discovered it, the ratings gradually went up. Now it's one of the highest rated shows on MDL.
