Just finished ep 3 and wow, I'm left wanting more!! I'm intrigued by all the smaller plots that will eventually intertwine with the main plot. Everything is so interesting so far and I'm giddy to see how it all plays out.
Two crazy people who are ready to die at any time to accomplish their goals... (one openly crazy, the other silently crazy😂) crazy meets crazy... We are about to be in for a ride!!💀
The ending of ep 3 was such a cliffhanger. I can't wait to see how she escapes death??? And how their relationship progress from there, since he's her (******)😭
The costumes are so gorgeous. Especially that wedding ceremony scene. I love the vibrant colors used when needed. It adds a little flair to the angsty feeling of the drama.
Freaking Youku does not have previews for the next two episodes. They are so annoying 🙄. Okay, it was nice hanging out with yall. I'm going to bed now!!

IMO, there's nothing to criticize here. This story hooks you from the first scene because of how well the leads are playing their roles. They have really immersed into the characters and you absolutely believe they are who they say they are. I'm enjoying it so far.

Girllll!!! Let me tell you... The amount of craziness so far??? LXY is really killing it (no pun intended) as the toxic, super crazy, ghost general ML. He plays his character so well that it's so believable that he's all of these things.
And WJN is a bad azz assassin. Just her eyes alone tells a whole story. She is an amazing actress.

Just finished episode 2 and omgggg??? Lol the last scene reveal??? All I was yelling at my screen was "this crazy azz mfer. This crazy azz man😮😮" 😂😂 I kinda saw that coming (I guessed but wasn't sure) but was still suprised with the reveal. All along he planned for them to ( ***) together??? CRAZY💀💀.

I really love that there's no "shy maiden" act in this one. (that bath scene, bed scene in ep 2) Nothing but adults being adults and pure hatred and craziness😂 Off I go to ep 3!

I'm going to start with this: there's a reason why this show has a 8.9 on MDL. The story is that good and intriguing. It's well written too, that even the villains are exceptionally portrayed. I've seen many shows with romance front and center, but they barely crack 8.0 ratings. Lol so keep that in mind.
Now, for your question: First off, this is a revenge drama. The romance is a sub plot, but it intersects well with the main plot. It's NOT an after thought. It's because of the romance that some parts of the revenge are able to be carried out.
The best thing about this show is that the ML and FL characters are so well written with interesting storylines each, that you won't really miss the romance. Their individual stories are that interesting. But when there are "romance" you will definetely enjoy it. Even without the obvious romance in the beginning, there's a lot of sensuality between the ML and FL to keep you on the hook.
There are two endings. The first ending is an OE. So, if you are going to watch, make sure to watch the extra episode 40.5, so you don't miss out on their HE. Happy watching!!!

This is the first time I've watched the FL actress and I gotta say, she's really beautiful. I didn't notice until ep 8. I like the makeup on her. She has a round, unique face that's really beautiful. I hope the industry don't make her lose it and make her look like everyone else.

While I understand what you are saying, cdrama industry is different. Most of these actors don't really have much say in what they play in. The studios decide for them. And in their industry, if you want to "make it" you have to follow the studio ideas for you.
Unfortunately, unless they've become really really successful where they don't need backers anymore, they have to shut up and go with the flow.

Her voice in itself doesn't bother me. It's the fact that it doesn't seem to fit the character she's playing. It was very jarring in the beginning...
